The same depressing patterns of play are evident in nearly every game now. We cannot play well for more than a half (half an hour in this case), we have major issues at both ends and the manager does not have any material impact on the match. All relegation hallmarks. Extremely concerning that in 8 games, we’ve conceded 3 or more in half of them. That is untenable, and O’Neill must get us drilled at the back and quickly for the sake of his job. I’m sure however he’ll be more interested in subtly blaming Lopetegui or chucking the players under the bus for losing to a team that were League One reserves in May. Saturday is a truly fearsome prospect.

Defensive frailties and in game management cost us again. Did OK to get 2-0 up then let Ipswich back in then just no game plan or formation

Embarrassing to lose like that from being 2 up. The only positive from that game was seeing Doc & Jonny on the pitch together. Reminded me of the good old days...Sack the fraud **** GON now!

Every goal was Bentley's fault, two at his near post and a long shot down his throat. Absolutely awful and it's worrying that we're one injury to Sa away from him starting Premier League games. Not as bad a performance as many want to paint it as. Yes it was their second string, it was also our's. Hardly worth of the Armageddon response on here.

If we sack GON, who are you all expecting? It'll be Steve Davis for the rest of the season.

I quite enjoyed the first half. Far from perfect but it was an open game. The second half was a whole lot of nothing from us.

O'Neil looked like a lost soul on the bench towards the end. Some of the players looked fed up or frustrated.

One line the commentator said made me laugh. "It's a no-win game for O'Neil." Well, he lost and by the look on Shi's face, he could be losing more than that if this carries on.

Didn’t see it. Can’t comment other than to say if they aren’t actively having discussions with a potential replacement it is gross negligence

The positives.

No doubt who our number one keeper is.
Traore looks competitive.

Uh...that's it.

When the team needed managing Gary went AWOL again. No leadership anywhere.

Weren’t going to win the cup anyway but a win in Sept would’ve been nice.

What a thoroughly ****ing depressing evening. My stream was utter **** we have an utter clown as our head coach, we have owners that are just trying to keep us up on the cheap, but by far the most concerning thing is we know our 1st 11 are **** but our 2nd 11 are even worse. To think we had £75Mill just with Silva & Cunha tells you everything you need to know about the way we’ve been run these last few years. We are going down unless we act and sack GON very very soon.

3rd goal they started passing in their own half, did about 8 passes without one challenge, before they scored their goal. So many people were to blame, before Bentley messed up his attempt.

There is decent players in this team, I feel a decent manager would have us mid table comfortably.

Looking tonight there was no pattern of play, players didn't seem to know what they were doing worrying there is nothing to see which is positive even when we were 2 up it was all gung ho type football.

No issues with GON but he's not a PL manager, they need to act fast and approach someone with decent experience, it's not to late.

We played it like a 5-aside game. You simply can not be that open in the centre of the park. Consequently we had zero control of the game. I wanted GON to succeed but the tactics are down the manager and it's no wonder we conceded so many goals when we are so open.

I think it will take a minor miracle for us to stop up in any case, unless FOSUN change tact and suddenly find funds for us to attract a decent coach and improve the squad in January. The squad has been stripped of its best players over the last few years and the replacements have not been of the same calibre. Not only that, but the decline of the coaching staff has arguably been even greater.

If Burnley improve then we're stuffed because I can't see us finishing above anyone else but the 3 promoted sides as things stand.

No leadership, no leaders, no style, no tactics, no clue, no hope. Just **** off.

This is an accurate synopsis, add in no purpose too.

Club from top to bottom is looking for easy exits over tough decisions and it's filtered down to the players which were simply not playing with anywhere near the desire and purpose of their much lower rated opposition.

Unacceptable performance, something needs to change immediately.

For the whole team or just GON . As this runs deeper than the manager for me . Fosun are clueless at running the club . Look at the stadium nevermind the on field **** we have to watch . Then there's Shi and Hobbs utterly jokers for appointing O'Neil , O'Neil is **** . The players I am sorry we have a handful of decent players the rest are crap for the premiership .

Very worrying and bottom 5 fight now unless a miracle happens .

But if they sack GON who is coming in to manage us as they have to work with the clowns

Decent first 20 but absolutely horrendous after that. The only player who looked remotely like they could challenge for a first team place was Traore. And even he looked like a red card waiting to happen.

Bentley at fault for two goals. Santi Bueno having a debut that Neil Emblen would have been proud of. Doyle neat and tidy but very similar in style and impact to Joe Hodge.

The pace, intent and dynamism we showed in pre-season has been replaced by a big void of nothingness. No energy. No discernible style or patterns of play. No strength of character. We didn’t once look like getting back into the game after going behind.

Bentley 4
Jonny 6
S Bueno 4
Toti 5
Doherty 6
Doyle 6
Traore 6
H Bueno 5
Hwang 6
Sasa 5
Sarabia 5

RAN 5
Cunha 5
Fraser 5
Fabio 5
Gomes 5

We had a great opportunity to build on the back end of last season and showed signs of real progress in pre-season. All that has been thrown away through a Summer so thoroughly incompetent, it almost looks like self-sabotage.

Hugely downgraded our Manager and Coaching Staff when just some moderate investment and sticking with Plan B would have kept them. Rushed into a cheap, poorly thought-through replacement who isn’t the right fit for the squad we have. And haven’t bought in one player in any position who is an improvement on what we had.

Going to be a long and depressing Winter with only a relegation battle to ‘look forward to’.

Our in-game management is awful.

Whilst I struggled to understand what Lopi was attempting in terms of style sometimes, his in- game management was excellent, hanging onto leads, going five at the back, grinding out results. He directly influenced results with his interventions (not that he always got it right by the way).

We just don’t have that now; if the other coach changes shape or tactics, we do not and seemingly cannot react.

Has to change otherwise we’re going to be in big trouble. Has GON got the answers………I’ll leave that there!
