Jeff must have some benchmarks to monitor performance.
Below is a simple chart showing this years fixtures and last years points totals for the first fifteen games.
One would assume that if this years totals are beating last comfortably, everything will be hunky dory.
But there are some serious challenges here

That’s essentially half the season. There should be some challenges in there.

well its 40%, but you can tot up the points you think we will get from those games and see where you think we will be at.
Mid table required 19 points
If he is at 19 I guess all will be good. If he's at 10, could be a short tenure
Last season after 15 games Leicester had 17 points, Leeds 15 points, Southampton 12 points

Surely we should be judging against corresponding fixtures last season, sub Burnley for Leeds and Sheff Utd for Saints?

This is why it’s so frustrating. We’re literally going to have to prop up the league or get 9-0’d a few times to get rid of O’Neil now.

Nightmare stuff.

You can do it that way Its usually a thread of its own.
Bottom line is, it doesn't matter who we play.
Points are points

So is context and the fact we had a youth team manager for a number of games, ppg should be absolute minimum

I see 8 points from that lot. If JL was still here maybe 18

So we're aiming to beat 10 points from our first 15 games? Is this part of a plan to try to beat 26 points from 38 games? Yes I think we need to beat that 'comfortably' unless the plan is to get Lopetegui back at Christmas.

I can see 13/14 points from that.
If J lo was still here I genuinely believe we would have taken 3 points from Utd, if GON doesn't interefere too much I can see us getting a point.

From memory the equivalent games would have given us 6 (Everton A and Liverpool H) wouldn't they, plus the bonus game of Luton H. So for my money 9 is a reasonable target. If we lose every game except Luton H then we need to be sacking everyone from Shi down.

Ah, can I be bothered to check back if there's any overlap between the people predicting we'll have no points by the end of September, and all those people who said we'd lose our last 7 games in a row because they were too spooked by 1 bad result against Leicester?
