23 players have played every round (would have been 24, but Nige100 has somehow managed to be ever-present all year and then miss the very last week ) and that's been a huge commitment to the cause. Congratulations all, we're all better than Mr Spoon.

30 players this week, with only four Wolves wins and four draws (one of them, appropriately, 4-4, from Chris H - it's the sunshine, I think). 13 think that Everton will stay up with a win, with 9 for Bournemouth and 8 for the draw; 11 have gone for a Leicester victory to give them hope, 12 for West Ham, and 7 for the draw; and, amazingly, we have 13 for a Leedsardyce win, 9 for Spurs and 8 for the draw. A big spread on the relegation games. In the Championship play-off, 10 are siding with Coventry, 7 with Luton, and 13 for the draw at full time.

And so the competition draws to a close in a rather wonderful way, as one of the performers of the season Evthewolf collects a first award of the year to avoid the accolade nobody wants, "Highest Ranked Player Without One". Ev took 35 points from 11 of 15 fixtures, including three correct scores, and wasn't far off a couple more (such as Spurs 5-2 over Leeds) to sign off the game with a flourish. It cements a superb overall top four finish - more of that later.

Wolf In Wednesbury has been the star of recent weeks, and collected another second place this round, joint on 34 points with Giantwolf and Wolf In The North. All three hit four correct scores and can be proud to have finished in the overall top ten, but it will be tinged with a lick of regret for Wednesbury who came so close to maximum glory in the end. Iamthenewno2, Blast Tyrant and Wonder Boyo were the other players this week to hit three correct scores, which was especially important for the latter two and they hammered it out for the title. They've been neck-and-neck for ages, and Tyrant chipped away another two points in this final week simply through an asterisk placement, 29-27.

Mention of the week goes to Bigcheese for being the only player to predict Lyon 3-0 and whacking an asterisk on it for good measure.

Spoonwatch - he signed off with three 1-1s, and retires happily to the cutlery drawer. Or cutlery draw. Whichever.

Congratulations to this year's champion, Blast Tyrant! He led for much of the year, came under pressure like a dewy snowdrop as winter turned into spring, but then blossomed anew these past few weeks to maintain his slender lead and ultimately the crown. Tyrant scored 30+ points in 10 out of 34 weeks and 25 points or more in 18 rounds, including 8 out of the last 10. It took to Week 29 to win a weekly accolade but it was sheer brilliant consistency that carried him through.

Wonder Boyo finished joint second last year and was second again this time around, an incredible feat, with 30+ points in 12 rounds and two weekly awards, but he'll rue a score of 4 in evil Week 3 that ultimately cost him the title.

Wolf In Wednesbury enjoyed a fabulous run in, with three weekly wins in the last nine rounds and four overall, and in the end was a single point shy of second place. Evthewolf and Wolf In The North finish joint fourth, and will share a bottle of champagne at the expense of poor Chris H, who suffered an unfortunate final week that cost a top five finish - but 6th is nothing to be ashamed of.

All in all, the year belongs to Blast Tyrant, a worthy victor.

A lack of a single correct score in the final week means the cruel Wolf In The North pipped him to the sub-title, as five players can be proud to finish above Mr Spoon and his relentless 1-1 draws. It was a close-run thing in the end, but I shall retire with a celebratory rum and cigarette.

Horrible final week for me, I expected a round of random fixtures but got all the wrong ones!

About the only thing worse than Wolves result was mine, and on my 30th birthday as well!!
