We really need to stop dealing with Barca. We rarely come out of it well. Semedo has been alright-good, but we got rinsed on that fee
Or are we signing someone from Sporting… so they get the discount and we take the hit, they get Trincao we get thier player instead of another club?

**** it, would it really make a difference if we got €2m out of it or €4m out of it? It wouldn't be spent on the team, it would be put towards some music or ****ing Esport anyway
Personally its not down to a couple of mil. Its the naeivity of our dealings with barca. Theyve had about 10m more from us than what the market value should have been on semedo, traore for free for 6 months which has subsequently ruined his value even more, and then agreed an over inflated deal on trincao with an odd sell on clause which they have now shafted us on as well. Btw, i am not blaming any particular party, but this is a combination of our own ineptness, barca doing what barca do, with mendes in the middle orchestrating these deals.

Perhaps you can get Shi & Sellars to paint it for you;)
What with the supply chain problems you'd wait 3+ years as the exact colour they wanted wouldn't be available.
And the only colours available wouldn't be an improvement on the colour of the fence now.

3 years later you'd have a rotten fence..

10m for Trincão? Surely we should have signed him if that's all they wanted (assuming he wanted to stay)! I really don't have any confidence in those currently in charge at our club to get good deals done.
10M euro for 50% of his economic rights, something which PL rules prohibit. Doubtless it would have been 20M for 100%......

I dont get that we are for proactively for sale based on what they are doing. Jeff went into some detail on ask wolves about getting us ready to go on the stock market in a few years but i dont think fosun would look to lose their controlling interest.

I think its more reducing the wage bill to a more manageable level, maybe linked to teams needing to be at 70% of wage bill over the next couple of years.

We are up for sale, Jeff said years ago that they were looking a minority interest sale, and now talks about an IPO. An IPO is pie in the sky, simply not going to happen. We’ve had posters comment on their involvement in due diligence for a sale that didn’t proceed, and others who have said they know it’s an open secret in their line of business.

As to how and how much they sell, I think that’s still uncertain. They may ideally be seeking a spin off Fosun Sports company, in which they retain a minority interest but where new investors come in, and Fosun get perhaps 200m dollars in cash back. But I’m confident that an outright sale for the right price would also be acceptable.

The key thing is that Fosun are an investment company, and since promotion and establishment in the PL, our value has grown massively but has now somewhat plateaued. All the stuff they are doing on the commercial side will see us continue to grow, but at a much slower pace than in the first few years of their ownership. So as an asset, we now don’t look attractive for them to invest further in, but they will realise a significant gain if we are sold. They don’t need a fire sale, so they are comfortable to hold onto us until an attractive offer comes in.

Fair dos. I was coming more from the angle that the club doesnt appear to be proactively for sale. I guess anything is for sale at the right price.

Personally im now at the point where im not interested in any player unless they are between the age 22-31, have top level experience, and their specialist position is either centre back or centre midfield.

Anything else is just fluff and window dressing and will generally have zero impact on our first 11 next season.

Stats look good...very tall.never seen him.play though

I've seen him a play quite a lot as he was at Midtjylland for 6 years. He was already good then, but has developed even further in Belgium.
His coach at Midtjylland who was until recently assistent manager at Genk recently says, that he's now ready for one of the biggest clubs, due to his development and ability to change games.

He is a big strong lad, with a great eye for goal. His technique is fine and his hold up play is good too.

He's a good lad of the field too from what I've heard. Very humble and hardworking

I'd say he'd be a very good addition.

Darío Osorio .. being reported ln Chile deal looking likely and we have offered 5mUSD which is acceptable to the Chilean Club .. no idea if would get Work Permit .. it does seem easier for South American players .. maybe a loan to Grasshoppers .. who knows ..
Honestly if our first signing is one for Grasshoppers the reaction in some quarters is going to be pretty funny

With a touch like that I can’t see that bloke troubling many premier league defenders. Even if he is a giant. Looks total Meirhoffer
If he scores a hatrick for us I wouldn't care if one came off his backside, one smashed him in the face and rebounded in and the other was a blatant handball that somehow VAR failed to spot and overturn.

Plenty I agree with there. But the reason we're so insanely boring is because we have to massively compensate for not having any CB's who as individuals are anything other than lower PL/Championship level.

The attacking talent we have in this squad compared to the dross we display most weeks is staggering. And all of this stems from never signing a proper CB. The midfield annoys me as well. Not signing at least another CM last season was the most inevitable backfire possible. And we massively lack legs and progression there, but Neves/Moutinho are class acts. The problem is they have to effectively make themselves redundant on an attacking front, again to protect the limitations we have at the back.
I consider Kilman, a top half Prem central defender and potentially a top 4 defender.

Very commendable, but that can’t be easy mate? I watched that hatrick and I couldn’t help but think he looked a bit Kevin Francis. I need to cheer up I think
