Ok, I know that of course but it was a loose example.Income isn't profit though. Income is before expenses are paid. In your family example, it would mean half as much left over as pure savings after your living expenses and luxury holidays have been paid for. Unpleasant, but nowhere near a financial problem at all.
My point was that a drop of nearly a £1B is not insignificant when I was replying to the other poster.
