37 players so far this week, and with no Wolves prediction to make none of us can feel guilty that we've jinxed it. Fifteen draws for Watford v Southampton and nineteen Watford wins after last week's bizarre coupon buster; an awful lot of doubling downs on Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea (cue one of those Halloween weekends where bizarre **** goes down, you just know it); twenty-one wins for Fulham over the Albion, with six brave souls going t'other way; thirty-two West Ham away wins and six draws, with no love for the Villa (are they really that bad a bet?); a lot of love for Rennes, surprise ticket from France so far this season; and some tricky either-way picks in Spurs v Man Utd, Leicester v Arsenal and Burnley v Brentford especially. 1-1s won it last week, plenty around again this time.

Who will be the Pumpkin King/Queen, the Wicked Witch, and the unlucky Black Cat? Spooky luck to all!

Well, 100% went for Man City win. How about a bonus point for those who at least thought it would be close, City win by one goal, maybe? ;)

This prediction league is driving me potty. Not had a great day prediction wise, but tonight, moving into injury time in Serie A my prediction of Torino 2 Sampdoria 0 looked to be bringing in me in a correct score at last. A bang on perfect score.

Constantly checking the score on the BBC and then watched injury time on BT Sport so I could enjoy my perfect prediction in all its glory. Then Torino score a third goal in the second minute of three minutes of injury time and I swear at the TV. 30 seconds later the goal has been ruled out by VAR. Oh yes baby, a little jig around the living room. Then with the last kick of the game, 4 minutes into injury Torino do get a third and my dreams are shattered.

Remembering those simple times, those unfettered Saturday evenings when I wasn't the least bit interested in the scores from the German, Italian and Spanish leagues.

I'm so sorry. If it's any consolation, I had the same score and actually thought Torino had won 2-0 until I saw your post. So, there's at least schadenfreude.

It's the hope that kills you.

The overnight leader after a strange and frustrating day (for most) is The Wolf In The North, on 20 points, from Blast Tyrant and Yeltzwolf on 16.

The Wolf In The North's performances up until now have been, quite frankly, pants.

The Wolf In The North isn't going to win this week. The Wolf In The North knows this. The Wolf In The North knows that, tomorrow, he will score zero bloody points and finish 14th. Because, life.

But, just for one precious moment, let us pretend.

It's 9:54am on Sunday and I'm watching the high lights on BT Sports 3, just had the 3rd goal disallowed .. thinking I'm sure I went 2-0, happy days...

Read the above and then bang 3-0, hopes shattered.

Then I double checked and saw it put a 1-1 draw and was looking at a different person's prediction and don't feel so bad.. in fact doing so bad I felt quite smug

only 3 correct results so far, missed out on 10 pts for one of them by a goal, way off on some of the others

Terrible Saturday (12 points from 10 games) but was one of just three to call a Southampton win … do I get an extra bonus point for that TWITN? :p

Better Sunday though with 2 bang on and 2 results so a decent 14 points from 5 games

Oh, Sweet Christmas. I'd like to thank my agent, my parents, my neighbours (except you, Barbara, you mouthy cow, stop shouting at your damn dog, and no cares about your day), my cats, my fellow competitors, and everyone who believed in me (yes, both of you). I dedicate my victory to The Girl Who Got Away; how'd you like them apples, honey? You missed out, big time. I WON A WEEKLY PRIZE.

Ahem.

Congratulations (thank you) to The Wolf In The North who wins Week Ten with 30 points (hey, it was a slow week, but let's not quibble), including three correct scores. I take back everything I said about Leeds, who finally stopped ****ing me over and secured me a precious 2-1 today. Wolf In Wednesbury had a storming Sunday, 14 points on the day to hit 26 overall, Yeltzwolf notched 25, and Irchywolf - three scores - collected 24. Huge Of Sharjah (god loves a trier, Huge) swept in 17 points for Sunday to reach 23 and Jrpb-3 hit 15 today, also ending on 23; SGWolves (three scores) and Stee were the other 23 pointers.

This was a tough old week, as is always the case when the big hitters fail to earn their expected victories (I'm looking at you Liverpool, Man City and Rennes), and too many goals get scored... but, hey, who cares. Not me. Have some.

Wonder Boyo sidles coquettishly alongside Contrarian into joint first place, with Nige100 just two points behind. It would be getting tense if there weren't six months still to go. Wolf In Wednesbury was this week's big mover and shaker, striding into the top ten, with Stee close on his heels.

Hall Of Fame So Far:

Week One: Chris H (46)
Week Two: Wonder Boyo (52)
Week Three: Baboon (37)
Week Four: Blast Tyrant, IrchyWolf (37)
Week Five: Ewok Vs Wolf (30)
Week Six: Baboon (34)
Week Seven: WetheralWolf (33)
Week Eight: Wonder Boyo, Boon2 (28)
Week Nine: Nige100 (43)
Week Ten: The Wolf In The North (heartfelt sob) (30)
**** me, @Baboon hasnt bothered for 3 weeks and I still haven't caught him. I'm using 2 dice for next week.

I entered this ahead of week 1 having done so so in the Euro’s one. Didn’t expect much, just thought it would be a bit of fun and would likely plod around mid table with the occasional decent week and occasional bad one.

Then I won that first week, and I was there or there abouts for the next 5 weeks despite me being crap at this sort of thing. But that horrible horrible thing called hope is absolutely killing me now!

If I’d have bobbed along in the middle I’d be happily predicting away each week with little expectation. As it is this game is now absolutely destroying me!

If I have another bad week this week, please just take me out back and shoot me. Put me out of my misery for the love of god!

P.S - I appreciate the hard work TWITN, despite my complaints as the pressure causes me a Spursesque collapse!

There’s a lot to be said for mid table mediocrity was a business decision for me.:D

I know the feeling. Week after week peeled away from me (until last week), watching others pick up points regularly and cursing myself for picking redundant scores or putting asterisks in daft places. It becomes weirdly debilitating, as it should be the most straightforward thing.

Now we're ten weeks in, though, I've seen how swingy the whole thing is, which is probably what makes it fun. For example, you're only 16 points off the top, and in the Euros game that was huge, but in this, it's nothing. You can make up 16 points or more in a week very easily.

That said, I'm dreading this coming week and slipping back to match after match of 0 points, 0 points, 2 points, 0 points, etc...

If it was easy - we’d all be winning 15 game Acca’s every week :cool:

And you’d all be living like me

I never know what’s worse, when you tot up your Saturday scores and you’ve done okay but then flop Sunday or when you’re no where Saturday and Sunday already seems futile!

You’re right, 16 points off the top is nothing to be fair. Only issue there is I only scored 12 last week! :tearsofjoy:
