Apologies, one of my formulae was skewed and a couple of update results last week were slightly wrong. I've now enlisted the expertise of Mark Clattenburg, who suddenly became available for employment for reasons unknown, and calculations are back on track.

@Evthewolf still leads, but only by 2 points from @Chris H and 3 from @Wonder Boyo , with no one really making much headway in the past couple of days of odd results (as an aside, of the 28 asterisks played so far, 9 - 32% - have scored zilch and only one has been a 10-point hit, for @giantwolf ). @Don Corleone has had an uplift in form, meaning he's still in with a chance, but @purplepault69 is a straggler and needs to give it some oomph today if he wants to get back into contention.

Saturday has 9 games and 23 asterisks, so it could be a make-or-break day for some. Keep an eye on Le Havre v Strasbourg, where opinion is most split.

It's set the cat among the squirrels, as Don bids arrivederci to his early indifferent form to surge up to second place, just 1 point behind @Evthewolf who is holding on by the fingernails. It's all very close, however, with 7 games still to play - that's a maximum 35 points, and everyone has at least 1 asterisk left to boot.

I must admit I was a worried man and have had sleepless nights since it was confirmed that other players can tamper with your fruit, should you not win.

Six players are hoping to start with a bang, with every goal from Fulham v Man City adding to their score - and, just like in the Fruit Bowl, seven players have gone for 1-3 to City, leaving Giantwolf quietly happy on 0-2, which won him 10 points last time. Lightning, striking twice? Only Purplepault69 has gone for a Wolves win against Palace, and no-one for Wolves to beat Liverpool, which sums up our end to the year.

After 12 games (including the riveting 0-0 just played out between Norwich and Leeds), @Chris H is leading by a single point over @Wonder Boyo and @giantwolf , with @CelebrityWolf just a further point behind. @purplepault69 kicked the tournament off in style with a 10-pointer in the very first game, Man City's 4-0 win, and added Celtic's 2-1 win over Fabio for good measure, but has only played one of his additional Goals Galore scoring games so far - 4 points - and is thus back in 5th place. @Contrarian and King Of The Fruit @Evthewolf are the two top performers so far with 26 and 25 points respectively, but neither have played any GG jokers yet. Giantwolf, Wonder Boyo and CelebrityWolf have all played 3 apiece to supplement their overall scores. Chris H, always the epitome of consistency, has taken 8 extra points from two GG games to add to a very respectable 23 from predictions. The bottom 3 are @jrpb-3 , @Baboon and @Huge of Sharjah , with Huge having the cushion of also not having played a GG game yet, whilst Jrpb-3 has taken 9 extra points from 2 games, which is an excellent score, but the predictions themselves haven't shone through yet. A veritable slew of correct scores over the last few days sees the race stretched out considerably, with a 5-point lead for @CelebrityWolf who collected 5 correct over the span of 8 matches, and an incredible 4 over 5 games between Sunday and Tuesday. Celebrity hit the turbo switch on his talking car (not that we're suggesting he/she is David Hasselhoff, his/her celebrity identity shall always remain a mystery), doubling Man City's win over Anti-Arsenal Hotspur along the way, and is now on 64 points, 10 coming from additional Goals.
