John Swift to WBA apparently. Good player.
Hence the thread! I don't mind discussion of other.clubs but I generally try to use the main thread to scout for Twitter links from @Flaneur and not endless adulation for Villa/Everton's new 30 million man!Apparently Villa may have signed a player today?
Yeah with you 100 mate!Hence the thread! I don't mind discussion of other.clubs but I generally try to use the main thread to scout for Twitter links from @Flaneur and not endless adulation for Villa/Everton's new 30 million man!
Those *******s. If they wanted a Red Bull Salzburg alumni, I know the perfect striker. Already has PL experience too.
Imo, it's a bit like Sunderland, Everton, the previous Villa owners and us. I call it the Ellis Short/Randy Lerner.Aston Villa agree deal to sign Diego Carlos from Sevilla for £26m
Aston Villa agree £26m deal with Sevilla for Carlos
Aston Villa agree a deal to sign Brazil centre-back Diego Carlos from Sevilla for £26m.www.bbc.co.uk
Why have the Vile got a bottomless pit of money???
Pretty accurate. There's another £30 million pound 30 year old in the pipeline for Villa's 'splash more cash' phase.Imo, it's a bit like Sunderland, Everton, the previous Villa owners and us. I call it the Ellis Short/Randy Lerner.
- New owners come in
- Splash cash.
- Sharp initial increase
- Splash more cash
- Hit a plateau of 7th best team in England.
- Realise that it costs several hundred million more to break the top 6.
- Lose interest.
- Club regresses.
- Sell
- Repeat
Please tell me you work at LeedsSaid to lads at work, that if he wants a reunion with an old manager - Hwang is quality for us and should offer £15m he'd be a great acquisition to Leeds forward line.
Tell you what - I think the strategy is mostly bad but Moreno is special. That is a signing I would be jelly ofPretty accurate. There's another £30 million pound 30 year old in the pipeline for Villa's 'splash more cash' phase.
No but I do football coach with some U18's Leeds coaches and will be seeing them in 6 weeks time - If we can just hang onPlease tell me you work at Leeds
Let me know if you need Petrol money or a lift to get thereNo but I do football coach with some U18's Leeds coaches and will be seeing them in 6 weeks time - If we can just hang on
maybe "If we can just whang off"No but I do football coach with some U18's Leeds coaches and will be seeing them in 6 weeks time - If we can just hang on
In all seriousness, is this not describing Fosun?Imo, it's a bit like Sunderland, Everton, the previous Villa owners and us. I call it the Ellis Short/Randy Lerner.

The way they are looking to grow the club doesn't seem like owners who have lost interest to meIn all seriousness, is this not describing Fosun?
Are we not just past the 'realise it costs several hundred million more to break into the top six' stage and now on the 'lose interest'??
Yup. I think it completely applies. No surprise to me that they lost a lot of interest after we peaked in 7thIn all seriousness, is this not describing Fosun?

Likewise. Moreno is brilliant so Suarez as part of getting the band back together wouldn't bother meNow I wouldn't at all be worried if they sign Suarez. I think he's finished, so hope it happens.
Vile are doing bits again!
Both players IIRC there were people wetting their pants about on here as we didn't get themI see the original " Doing Bits " club Fulham let £45 million of that walk away on free transfers this as Alfie Mawson ( £20m ) and Jean Mark Sarri (£25m ) left this week !
They have deadwood on their books that will struggle to move, target, el ghazi, trezeguet, wesley nobody is going to pay big fees for these players on probably nearer 60/80k a week. Delusional bunch. Moreno & Suarez is no better than what they have? Let them keep splashing the cash teams will take them for a rideOver half a team signed almost into the 30's age range , they will blow up and have no-resale value on any of these.
Liverpool want Adama to replace him?
Not sure on that one. His stats in La Liga up until last season were still phenomenal.
Coutinho at £18m and a wage that fits in with their structure looks decent business to me as does Kamara on a free.
No way would want Luiz at Wolves he’s not a defensive midfielder may as well keep DendonckerWith their signing of Kamara, does that mean that Douglas Luiz would be available from Villa? I might be tempted to take him if we could could get him for £15m - part of a double pivot with Palhina
I wouldn’t want him either.doubt he,d want to come to us either. No way would want Luiz at Wolves he’s not a defensive midfielder may as well keep Dendoncker
Not for the money they would want, give me a Portuguese kid any day!!I wouldn’t want him either.doubt he,d want to come to us either.
All very short-term.What I will say is Vile are signing a lot of players in the twilight of their careers. Could be a problem if it goes tits up. I still think Kamara is a very good signing though. Coutinho will do well next season I reckon as well.
All very short-term.
Kamara is the one signing they have made who l think would have looked good at Molineux. They need to have a very good season next season surely if they are investing so much on transfers and wages? Would have liked Kamara here though.
