After so long without many options nothing is underwhelming. We could probably have any combination of two of those adding cover and competition.

Depends what we want I’d be happy to take a gamble on the Aberdeen geezer Mioviski along with Adams or Dia. They don’t suffer many injuries and offer different options. Probably show more determination too.

He's actually done relatively well there. Not been trusted as much in the Champions League games from what I've seen, but he's still only 22. I doubt he's an option for us unfortunately.

I’d be looking at Plymouth’s Morgan Whittaker. 23 years old, 19 goals this season in a struggling team. Would be about £8m I guess, especially if they get relegated. Not an out and out No. 9 though.

I think he's strong and fairly mobile, on the plus side although he's scored 3 in 28 starts it's bits and pieces so not much worse than a goal every 3 games. On the minus side how come he's mostly been a sub for a team that can't score?

I don't really understand his deal, £30m on the basis he wasn't worth that much, but they didn't have to pay anything this year. So helps cashflow but not FFP I guess.

I didn't want Che Adams when we desperately needed a ten goal a season striker that we so desperately needed...

Now we don't need ten goals, anything near ten from him playing off the bench and in rotation seems appealing.

I didn't think we should spend between £15m and £20m on him and I still don't, but on a free I'd definitely have him and if it doesn't work out we can flip him for £5m quite easily and that should cover his wages for a season and represent a small profit.

The prospect of him signing isn't very exciting but it seems quite sensible.
