    Slow weekend, seems like an opportune time to post this interesting article from the Daily Mail.
    According to the double page spread the paper poses the question;
    ‘So how big is your club’
    Joint 13th according to the Mail criteria. Based on;
    Global Fanbase
    Average league finish
    Player quality
    The table is based on 50 of the 59 clubs that have played in the top flight.
    Man utd
    Man City
    Occupy the top 5 places, our ‘illustrious neighbours’ occupy 11th spot
    Some interesting sub paragraphs;
    ‘What did Wolves do to finish 13th?
    Wolves have won the league three times, the F.A. Cup 4 times among 6 other major trophies. They are comfortably top 20 in terms of all time league position and crowds and have more popularity and income than most of the premier league teams.
    ‘Aren’t Sunderland and West Brom too High?
    A combination of multiple historic honours [they have 15 between them] a tradition of being able to draw big crowds, plus current premier league status, they have fielded a high number of stars over the years.
    ‘Aren’t Leeds way too low?
    Leeds fans will point to the Revie years. There are 14 other teams who have a greater haul of trophies. They were giants in the 60s and 70s but are much diminished for now.
    Six of the biggest 20 clubs: Wolves, Leeds, Blackburn, Shef Wed, Bolton and Forest-play outside the top flight. It may surprise many that Wolves are tied with Leeds in 13th, But Wolves nine major trophies to Leeds 7 give Wolves the edge.
    Very interesting.
