My 3 contenders are Afobe, Sako and Mcdonald. i guess one might ask whats the definition of a star player, i believe Mcdonald is our most important player and i dread to think how we would perform without him in the team..but we all know Sako is a worldbeater on his day and now Afobe has added another dimension to our front line and currently top scorer in all divisions..if pushed for a choice would choose Sako maybe edges McD as he has such a connection with fans too..

Sako hands down, the opposition are scared stiff of him!

I didn't think I have watched any team handle Afobe too well. When on song Sako is just unplayable, partly because I am not too sure that he knows what he is going to do next himself.

Sako. Stears and Afobe are good players, and we miss Ikeme, but Sako is our star man and will take some replacing should he leave.

I'd say Afobe to be honest, purely on value. Probably the best striker outside the prem too. We do have some great combinations forming... Price plays great with Mcdonald, Mcdonald plays great with Afobe... and Sako abosolutely loves playing with Sako!!

As above, the 3 are very important to us.. I think we are very fortunate that Kmac hasn't had a long injury over the last 2 seasons as he'd be impossible to replace with what we've got in the squad...

To his credit, Kenny has us operating as a team that is greater than the sum of all its parts. However, in terms of quality, there aren't many better players in this division than Sako, in my opinion.

Is there anyone else on here who actually thinks Sako is good enough to play for a top 6 premier league side? He's way too good to go to an average PL team in my opinion.

Unless of course we get promoted!

"Star players" tend to be those with obvious ball skills which make you wonder how he does it. In that regard, Sako is our obvious "star player". Does that make him our best player? In my opinion, no. If he played like last night every match, it would be different, but too many games he's missing for large parts, or just playing for himself not the team. Stears as a super solid defender has given more to the team week in, week out, but would not be called a "star". KMac, or Afobe are our other players who can change a game with their talent, and probably give more to the team than Sako most games.

I think Dicko seemed to have found an extra 10% from somewhere last night as well. Maybe Afobe being here has given him a little push. Either way, his hard work plus ability put him in the same bracket as those three for me.

Sako and Afobe. Both have that x-factor. We have some good players but those two have star quality.

KMac for me is our most vital, along with Stears.

    Sako and Afobe ooze talent.

Dicko's stats are surprisingly good too

Amazing player , possible my all time Wolves favourite , will genuinely be gutted to see him leave.

  16. Personally I think K Mac although been a good player for us still needs to improve on a few things. he needs to improve his defensive concentration for example last night was at fault for Derby getting several shots away. Also that was due to be over ran in midfield. Afobe although very good has not done if at Wolves for a long enough period in my opinion.

Sako, last night and over the last few seasons has improved a lot. Defensively he has improved massively while still being a threat going forward. Sako is the player teams are scared off. Watching the game last night and watching the difference between Sako and James Henry was massive. Henry was a liability, lazy to his man and hardly did anything going forward. So much so that their full back was able to push up.

For me star player is Sako. We have a lot of under-rated players. Main being Jack Price.

    Sako for me.

He can go anywhere on the pitch, do his thing and switch the situation in a flash......terrifies the opposition.

Sakos the kind of player who excites you and drives you mad at the same time. He was excellent last night and it's just a consistency thing with him which would turn him into a great player.

This for me. Sako has the best statistics for a Wolves winger in over 50 years and Afobe has all the tools to be an excellent Premier League striker.

We have quite a lopsided team and knowing how good an individual would be in a proper balanced team is a bit difficult to judge, but the question is star player rather than most able/class player which is probably more important.

So star player would be Sako I guess.

But most able/class player would be Afobe.

Special mention for KMcD, ND and KI.

Potential Star/Class/valuable player Dominic Iorfa (hope we can keep him!)

Never saw him play but my Dad idolises him. Says Sako is the best winger we have had since him.

Was just saying Sako is the first Wolves winger to score double figures in three consecutive seasons since Terry Wharton. And the first Wolves player to do since Bully. Phenomenal achievement.

Yes, a good/excellent achievement by Sako. Just think how good he actually could be with some further work! He has the tools; not quite using them to maximise the end product IMHO.

Sako, is a hell of a lot better that Terry Wharton was, although both have/had tremendous shooting abilities.

    Waggy was special!

Agree totally with this; he has most of the tools, just doesn't quite use them to maximise what could be.

I have seen at times a bit of a show-boater attitude, rather than just doing the business for the team. Last night he contained this well and put it in for the team.

IMV no, I thought he was fantastic last night and will be in the premier league next year but not top 6.

All about opinions but I think in the short time we have had him that's Afobe.

I think that's about spot on, Macca has gone up a level since Afobe has joined but Sako is the star player

Sako is the star man, we will miss him terribly. Afobe next season should mature into our star man and McDonald if he keeps up his top form is right up there too. Dicko also has massive potential imv. Stears is the defensive star man.

A star player for me has to be one that's as consistent as possible. That player so far from what I've seen is Stearman.
