I've been thinking a lot about Sir Jack this w/e and thinking what a wonderful man he was and what a fantastic life he had. Upon reflection I can't think of any man I would rather have been, past or present. If I could have been a footballer I think being George Best (in this prime) must have been pretty amazing - good looks, great player, loads of women, shame about the booze but there you go! If you could be or have been anyone, football related, who would it be?

From a career point of view, it must have been pretty awesome to have been David Beckham. Multiple trophies, Captain of England, huge money and the chance to live in Milan, Madrid, Paris and Los Angeles. Not sure I'd want the level of publicity and media circus that he cultivated for himself but he had a phenomenal career. And fantastic hair.

Wolves, it's got to be Roger Johnson... On the $$$$ all day and paid a fortune , beats working for a living hey Rodge?

Other alternatives and not living rodges dream I think Jamie O'hara ......on the $$$$ every night , ****ging different birds and paid a fortune , beats working for a living hey Jamie?

Seriously know Sir Bradley Wiggins. Years of dedication , every success , total commitment and other than his 3 month drinking binge post his first Olympic gold no dirt, total respect

Football wise ronaldo, to play with that pace would be immense.
Life wise Neil Armstrong (then I'd know if we landed on the moon), music wise John Lennon (I'd be ready to duck though)

Or maybe just Dion Dublin ................

That's a great shout (even if I'm not wholly convinced he is a Wolves fan!)

From a non-football perspective, reckon it has to be Richie Benaud. Captained his country, travelled the world as a player and then spent the rest of his working life commentating on the sport he loved. Happy and stable home life and universally recognised as one of the greats as both a player and broadcaster. What a fantastic life he has led!

    Or Dave Grohl...

I wouldn't really want to be anyone else as I am comfortable with what I am (perfect:D)

But in the spirit of the thread.

Football - Joe Gardiner. Working with Stan Cullis and the great fifties side would have been good.

Non Football John Peel the late radio presenter. Always liked his individual and unique approach to music.

Spike Milligan also. Would have loved to have been in his mind and worked on ground breaking stuff like the Goons. Wouldn't have fancied the breakdowns and mental health issues though.

Eric Idle was the Python's resident (rumoured) Wolves fan.

I'll stand corrected but I believe Palin went to Wolverhampton Grammer School and supported the Wolves while studying here.

You may be right about actually being a "fan" though but I'm sure he's got a soft spot if nothing else :)

Star bloke though in my eyes and would love a couple of hours in the pub chatting to him.

Edit. Quick look on t'internet I may be getting mixed up with Idle with the Wolverhampton connection.... Still would love to meet the bloke though.
