Which Premier League side faces the toughest start to the 2018/19 campaign?
or so the stats say
Bar Utd and city I’d say our first 7/8 games aren’t that bad at all
All games will b tough
We’ll be top 8 minimum after those opening 10 games.
How do they work out the promoted teams last season positions if they weren't in the premier league?
Everton at home .
Silva V Nuno
A very good start.
couldn’t care less, we’ve got to play them all twice i don’t care in what order, over to you Nuno.
And that is pretty much that.
I have said before they would screw us with the fixtures and have been proven right. Give us a hard start to keep us down and lackomg confidence. We could lose the first 6 easily.
We're doomed. Blimey mate cheer up
We'll have seven or eight points from the first six
I'd rather have the better teams early on. They will most likely not have hit their rhythm and will be most complacent, and we will be most up for it.
Sky stats say we have toughest start.
Doom and gloom posts in here.
Before that announcement, in the other thread as soon as fixtures released...people thinking we have a nice start.
I dunno. Doesn’t look too bad to me.
Playing Manure early is usually a good thing, last season was an anomaly with them making a fast start.
Then there’s probably never a good time to play City after last season.
Yeah, that's right, we play, Chelsea, Arsenal, Man U, Man City and Spurs, the first 5 games!!! NOT! Everton, Leicester and West Ham are winnable!
Thirty points from the opening ten games no matter what.
One game at a time
I drink cider I'm assuming yow drink paint stripper.
What *******s .
It’s a complete stitch up by the powers that be. Man City don’t play a single team all season that finished above them last year
I think it's a fantastic start! Home against one of the sides we will be bench-marked against. And then City and a trip to Old Trafford in September. October we've got Palace, Watford, BHA and Huddersfield - all winnable games imo. It's been so long since we played the top teams I'm just so ****ing excited! It's great to be going into these games knowing we will compete and not just praying for a point!
Bring it on!!!
I bet some of them teams were looking at their fixtures and thinking, "bloody hell I didn't wanna play Wolves that early on!"
Exactly Jade. Why shouldn't teams fear us instead of it always being the other way round?
I cant bloody wait, have had serious withdrawal symptoms !!I
You’re right. Total and utter *******s.
It looks a tough start to me. But all it’s really done is show how tough this league really is when you look at it broken down as fixtures rather than just teams listed out in the positions they finished.
Take a peep at the first 2 teams forums, quite a few fans are not looking forward to the game against us.
All games are hard in the Prem. It's up to the management and board to get us the players to compete at this level.
4 /5 more first team players and we might have a chance if top half .
We are Wolves. We fear no one.
My reaction to the first 10 games was a shrug. Obviously City and United are huge tests but nothing to fear otherwise.
Can’t get my head around people saying games against Southampton and West Ham “make you realise how difficult the league is”.
Most clubs this season will be more worried about us than we are of them.
It's a really flawed way of working it out. Doesn't take into account home advantage, or the fact there was the top 6, then everyone else was garbage last season. It also ignores how everyone will invest in players and some will do this far better than others.
It is a bit of fun and interesting to see - but we take it one game at a time and have absolutely noone to fear.
Start the season like you mean to go on Brightside!!! Like last time I'm right with you!!!!!!
We've beaten top teams before in the Premier League. We can do that again, but every game has three points to play for and we'll be up for each one of them, no worries. Getting points when we swing the game our way and losing them when the opposition do is how Football works. Using last season's stats to predict results is nonsense. One game at a time works well, as Nuno knows. We'll have a Plan A from last season and in the close season he can build on that.
We surprise the hell out of everyone by tearing a couple of them a new one!!!!!
Time will tell, but bring it on
Nuno believes in pre- season.
Remember last year.
Taking on the best early is great.
We will be at our best to play a few prima donnas after their bling holidays.
Bring it on.
I reckon with all things considered it's a great fixture list with the way it has come out.
A very reasonable start - a couple of tough games early on isn't always a bad thing - followed by what I think is a great winter period, then ending with a very good run-in…...Yes we would have liked the final game to be at home but you can't have it perfect.
If we go for a vitamin D top up in mid-Feb the fixtures are excellent with no Big 6 to content with before or after.
Couldn't be much better IMO.
In a Nuno accent, "we will prepare for only the next game, we will do our job and prepare the team for the match."
one match at a time.
Imagine we played Watford, Bournemouth , Burnley and Brighton and got 6 points .
We would be down.
No ! get those irons in the fire on day one.
I am sure Nuno just loves the idea of starting against the best.
