..about the behaviour of Wolves fans around the ground.

Their forum is awash with tales of Watford fans being threatened, beaten and abused by 'inbred' Wolves fans outside the ground and when when they were leaving.

One of them did not have a good word to say about Jackett as a manager either.

    Was it that bad yesterday?

There were a couple of nutters singing loudly going towards the subway. After a Wolves fan went to them and calmly told them to shut up or they would get their heads kicked in (he didn't threaten them, he just told them what would happen if they sang in the subway). They soon shut up. The ones who got into trouble were the ones being $$$$ers.

Thats one of the things the Watford fans were complaining about.

It all seems like a through back to the 70s and 80s as was the fans behaviour at the Villa/Baggies game!

I think that might have been me!
I did warn them to shut it or they would probably get battered.
Really surprised the police didnt escort them.
Only stepped in after one of them got $$$$ted and they all rounded on an elderly steward, blamimg him!
They were loud, cocky and heading towards the subway.
Didnt fancy walking through the melee with my daughter

My experience at Watford, is that they are as quiet as mice and rarely lift themselves to chant. Hard to imagine they have much in the way of nutters, but it only takes a couple I suppose.

Sore a Pocket of Watford lads in there twenties on Falkland St looking for it and found it off a bunch of kids. Wolverhampton has never been and never will be a place you can walk around looking for trouble or even being a little mouthy without finding trouble.

Like most grounds, if you want to go looking for trouble, you'll find it. I saw a group of Watford fans, respelendent in baseball caps, pearly white trainers and Fila tops, outside the Grand at about 1:30, trying to cause some aggro. The Police were having none of it though. The closest it came to any violence was when one of them was almost hit by a bus.

From what I saw, the Watford fans gave it the big un and Wolves fans, mostly young, were ready for them.

I do agree however I was surprised with the lack of police knowing that there would be 2800 away fans and I also agree that for fans not wanting agro that it could have been (was) intimidating.

    Watford fans

Definitely a few 'fashion victims' fresh out of nursery looking for it after the game around the stretch between the canal basin and the railway station. As someone said earlier a complete lack of police presence, particularly in that area; perhaps all available WMP resource was deployed at Villa Park?

The only trouble was cause by a group of their idiots chanting something walking towards the subway. The police totally at fault for not escorting them up the hill like normal but on the other hand you don't go shouting your mouth off and expect nothing to happen to you.

Not condoning anything but I am afraid the Forestieri antics wound up the whole home crowd just before the final whistle so I am not surprised there was a few handbags after.

It's the escorting by Police which caused more problems as those within think they have armed guards and look harder for trouble.
Seems Police are damned if the do etc.
Some of these fans need to grow up. I have never gone to a match and thought "he's chanting I'm gonna hit him" you will always get the thug element and this is what the police and clubs are trying to eradicate but when Police are heavy handed they get stick.
A good example of Policing at the footy is at Brighton. Be interesting to see how our fans react, thought we built a good rapport with Seagulls that doomed day!

Some watford fans were up for it, unfortunately for them wolves fans are always up for it. Wolverhampton probably isn't the best place to come and puff your chest out.

I like to think that Wolves has a raw and savage beauty - a Gaurdian reader's wet dream in a way. I take it that some of these people never go to Vicarage Road; taking in the sights and smells of the High Street strip club next to the Travelodge, grubby-looking takeaways and terrace houses with boarded up windows.

If they think Wolverhampton is a dump, perhaps they should try visiting Watford once in a while.

Some Watford fans were up for something and giving it large, not sure they realised they would be challenged at some stage and would need to back it up if the police weren.t around.
I was walking down from the south bank past where the away fans emerge from the Steve Bull. They were mouthing, chanting and forming a group/gang. Few police around. As they moved towards the subway they seemed to expect the Wolves fans to just get out of the way. I got buffeted and shoved a couple of times, got a bit fed up with it to be honest. One guy bounced off me and gave me some abuse, to which I told him were to go. I presume this group continued up to the subway and the town where I would imagine they found some opposition to have a tussle with, which I doubt they would be prepared for by the look of them.
I think they were on a typical away day out, giving it large and thinking they were untouchable. If they met with some yobbo Wolves they would have been in trouble I imagine.

Funny how different fans see different incidents you go on the watford forum and we are animals then you come on the wolves forum and Watford fans came looking for trouble. I was there and I saw plenty of little watford chavvy fans who were hell bent on causing trouble. They were always going to get a kick in. Anyway not looking forward to Birmingham or millwall. There will be lots of trouble with these games.

    Without seeing anything

I'd imagine you got mouthy Watford fans aged 15-20 giving it lot talk not thinking anything happen, wolvo is place you come no colours keep head down in and out job then enjoy yourself on outgoing train from Birmingham

Some wolves fans may been looking but doubt they provoked every incident

Truth will be somewhere In the middle, it's not just US otherwise this happen every game on large scale

Left the Steve Bull to go and pick someone up from the boxes in that stand and obviously there was a flow of Watford coming the opposite way. One in particular was shouting to some Wolves supporters going the opposite direction something along the lines of "come and say that when there's no coppers around". Thing is there weren't any police there as far as I was concerned. It was a real "hold me back hold me back" comment, lame. I don't know how the police determine how much of a presence they need, for Rotherham they had way too many and I couldn't understand their police van kettling tactic again. Yesterday I'd say they didn't have enough police and they certainly didn't direct the visiting supporters up the usual route to the station.

Its always the same with these threads -accusations from both sides that only scarfers or easy targets are affected, and "if they had tried it with 'the lads' they would have got battered" etc.............

Another Watford fan says "they will $$$$ themselves when they play Blues or Millwall". Hmmm........... obviously isnt aware of Wolves history with Blues, or even with what happened at Millwall this season.

Having said that, I do admit last game of the season v Millwall won't be for the weak-hearted. If they bring all their naughty boys down for revenge for what happend at their place, then yes, its going to be different to yesterday, and pretty scary, tho sadly Wolves will probably have 300 little hooligans out for that one not 20 like yesterday when you expect an incuident free day not a little mob of gobby Watford chavs trying to give it the large.

I genuinely hope the fan in hospital makes a full and swift recovery. And I hope most Watford fans realise 99% of Wolves fans are actually decent. But hey-ho, I don't really care about what they think, just like I guess they don't care what we think.

Wolves have some fans who lack social responsibility so do Watford, it's the same with any half decent sized City or Town. I bet some away fans have had trouble at Vicarage road over the years but I wouldn't slag off the whole of their fanbase & town due to some idiots or call them all racists for issues on the train on the way home.

Generally 98% of the fans were decent & got on, it was an enjoyable game & atmosphere in the sunshine on a Saturday afternoon.

I must be quite sad to actually know people who went (well one or two), but in effect they are /were $$$$ed off that 150 Wolves took liberties "on their turf", I think they take great offence that they went relatively unchallenged and that Millwall didnt challenge them on their own turf. Lets just say it was'nt a surprise to Millwall that a firm were going down there.

They will definitely bring large numbers up last game. Lets face it, Millwall fans are a breed on their own and I think they will cause absolute chaos here.

    All very sad tho.
