Awesome performance! A bit of luck along the way, I would have given Stearman MOTM, but Sako was great too. KJ got it spot on tonight including substitutions! Everyone no less than 7 with special mentions for Batth, Mcdonald and Doherty. Kuszczak gave me some nervy moments though, hope Ikeme is back for Forest. Onwards and Upwards...my birthday weekend too!!!

Happy birthday Bahama. Stears got my vote for MOM too. Rode our luck tonight, but brilliant night. Off to open the JD.

Great win, massive win gives us a real chance now.
Everyone played great, the organisation and shape was perfect, KJ got the subs spot on and at the right time to give us the edge at the time.
We got a bit of luck and Derby had a good 15-20 min spell after half time and the Pole in goal shatters my nerves but once we got the 2nd we looked in control.
When we got smashed by Derby away we looked way short of what was needed, we've done great to be this close to Derby in the table and be in a real shout, unfortunately the international break comes at a bad time for us.

    Very lucky.

Batth should've been sent off and Derby dominated most of it.

BUT lots of our key players played very well, such as Batth, Stearman, Sako and Dicko. It's such an important victory and I still can't quite believe we won it.

I know he made several saves but I don't trust Kusz AT ALL. Does anyone know when Ikeme is back?

cannot remember a game where we rode our luck so much. mainly cos we NEVER have ANY luck!! but I'll take this one. well done wolves, great win - as much as the defeat at derby was significant for a while, I reckon this win could just be pivotal in the run-in... let's see...
well fought victory boys! :) lets hope some results go in our favour tomorrow! In some seasons, we'd already be guaranteed a play-off position with this points total!!

We sat way too deep second half giving Derby every invitation to keep coming at us but it worked and VLP despite one or two lapses at our end when he dallied he was an inspired and timely substitution .
    Stears MOTM for me.

Thrilling game, but major bum squeaking in the 2nd half, certainly getting a better rub of the green at the moment & about time. It's exciting being a fan at the mo!

So proud of this team. The work ethic and desire from the side were top-class, and we played some very decent football in patches. Needed and got a large slice of luck against a very good Derby side but we are certainly due some after previous games. Jackett and the boys have done a wonderful job to have us in contention at this stage of the season.

Kuszchak (6) - Number of saves from disrance coupled with the usual couple of moments where he makes me feel hugely nervous.

Doherty (6) - Thought he really struggled in the first-half, being caught out of position by crossfield balls but improved as the night went on.

Batth (8) - Absolutely superb (even if he shouldn't have been on the pitch). Great blocks, excellent in the air and even one storming run upfield. Great Captain's performance.

Stearman (8) - Has been imperious since December and must be a shoo-in for Player of the Year. So pleased he is getting the recognition he deserves.

Golbourne (7) - Getting back to his best. Cool, classy and good link-up with Sako going forward.

Price (7) - A vital cog in the Wolves machine. Reads the game superbly and an excellent communicator/organiser. Good to see the beard growing back too.

McDonald (8) - His return to his Rolls-Royce best has coincided with our recent run of form. One vital challenge to prevent Ince scoring and another phenomenal ball to Afobe when he hit the bar. If only he could shoot...

Henry (7) - Great deliveries first half and helped Doherty through a tough first 45-minutes. If we're playing 4-4-2, he needs to start. When we sit 4-3-3 and counter, there's a bigger case for RVLP.

Sako (8) - Just superb. Made Christie look extremely ordinary and oozed class and power. A fantastic performance for the team as well. His all-round game has improved hugely, whilst his bond with the supporters remains as fantastic as ever.

Dicko (8) - Bright, lively and excellent all-round link-up play. Just shades my MOM award due to the goal.

Afobe (7) - Always looks as if he will score. Extremely unlucky to hit the bar and another who also works hard for the team. If we'd have had him, Sako and Dicko available all season, we'd be challenging for promotion.

    Subs:

Edwards (6) - The right change at the right time as Derby were overrunning our midfield. Worked hard and provided a better shield when we needed it most.

RVLP (6) - A question wrapped up in an enigma. Huge talent and did some really good things in the attacking third. His defensive game worries me but he has all the raw materials to be very good indeed. A challenge that the Wolves coaching staff should relish.

Jackett (8) - Got the starting line-up and substitutions absolutely spot-on. Deserves huge credit for having us in contention at this stage of the season and for meeting his most recent challenge of increasing our attacking threat, having had to tighten up due to injuries / lack of squad depth earlier in the season. He's done a remarkable job overall.

Probably our best result of the season given the beating we took at Pride Park. Well done everyone!

A bit of luck?......We were non-existent in the second half and got off with a $$$$-up from their goalie. It was one of those games where you just knew the opposition would not have it go their way. Very disappointed with us not being able to maintain a decent grip on the game in the second.

We though have the result that will help us fudge our way into the mix for the play-offs.....anything is possible then.

Doyler on for Afobe in the 90th minute was baffling.

    I thought Sako was superb,

He looked as though, for the first time tonight, that he believed we can get promoted and he played that way!!

Absolute mugging of a result. Batth should have walked , dickos goal nutmegged two of their players and their keeper had a mare. They battered us for much of the second half. We were lucky, but I'll take it. :embarassed:

20 attempts on goal of which 16 were from distance.

Batth shouldn't have been on the pitch but we defended superbly.

    Harsh.

Once we got the second and made our subs, we played a much more controlled game and Derby had nothing to answer it. Kenny was inspired in making these changes, and we showed we could shut Derby down.

Before that, I had the sense we almost wanted Derby to come at us, so that we could hit them on the break once we had our noses in front. I was nervous as hell, but our defence was excellent under heavy pressure.

We got luck with Danny's incident first half, but while they hit the woodwork twice, we hit it as well, so I don't think we rode our luck as much as the stats suggest. Anyway, after the way some games, especially against Bournemouth, have gone, we deserve some luck ourselves.

I don't give a $$$$ that we mugged them. I don't give a toss that Batth should have been sent off , and I don't give a flying $$$$ that the ref gave them virtually nothing all game, how many times have we come away bemoaning our luck and a $$$$ ref ?
What I do care about is my 28000 brothers and sisters and this team trying to get them a trip to Wembley...what a day that would be
Wigan is going to be absolutely mental if it all depends on that game....remember last time we were there ? how times change

Much needed lady luck come to our aide big time. That being said we were not out played, it was a great game for the neutral and must have been good on tv. Jack Price is superb. Does what he needs to and allows McDonald to shine. Baath is like john terry, he bleeds for the team. All round 8 for me

Fantastic win. Maybe didn't deserve to win so clearly but I don't give a $$$$. Our lack of closing down $$$$ed me off though - Ince and co got so much room it was ridiculous. I can't believe they didn't score. Our defending was fantastic but the space we gave them was unforgivable at times.

i love Jack Price too - keeps the ball moving, invariably sees the pass quickly and buys valuable time for the player receiving it. Positioning is brilliant defensively. I loved the moment when he gave it away in the second half (an event in itself) only to win it back straight away..

We actually made our subs before the second.....but for the fortunate goal failed to regain a grip of any semblance.

It really frustrates me that we had to revert to a siege mentality and not have the game to maintain decent control.

I don't think we were overly lucky, the 20 minute spell after the goal worried me greatly and I mustvr given the whole of the SC earache, but they were solid defensively and every time the ball floated to Kuzsack I was more and more pleased with his performance. McDonald was top draw aswell, when he came across Bent in the 2nd, ushering the ball to kuzsack, brilliant.
