At the end of the day, no matter how much clubs spend on their squads, 3 teams will be relegated from the Premier League and have to face living from the massively reduced income of the Championship, where gate receipts account for an important part of income.

Er so I see you spend your tv money on a new stadium, not players, in case you get relegated and then get relegated cos the teams duff.Brilliant.

    You do the maths.

Gate receipts are, to a reasonable extent, income the clubs can rely upon year after year.

A relegation and the TV money disappears very quickly and there will eventually be a point where the TV money stops increasing, begins to reduce or even disappear completely.

The smart ones will think long term and value the supporters far more than they are.

That's why we need to go up sooner rather than later.

    Grab the money.

You can only spend so much on players & wages though, why not improve the facilities for the fans. £25m mortgaged over however long is not that much money to a football club with the potential of Wolves & a chairman worth about 500 million.

Don't think the Sunderland fans would be happy to read that they are a "smaller club".

If Wolves were to go up this season, would fans be happy for Wolves to continue the development of the youth strategy, or throw money at 'proven' PL players?

I know which route i'd sooner see us take.

Edit: I've gone completely off topic - apologies! :)

On Premiership income no. On Championship income it is risky.

Whilst Morgan is worth £500mil, how much of it is in assets?

The difference between the Premiership and Championship in terms of revenue is staggering isn't it.

Obviously no rebuild will take place whilst we are in this league but we would have £74m for that season to spend then 4 years worth of parachute payments at about £60m should we go down & that is not including the £25m on a new Steve Bull stand already paid for out the original £99m you receive.

Or we could buy a £10m player & pay him £4m a season for 4 years instead of the stand. Seems a no brainer for me & luckily we have a chairman who likes to build things & not pocket the money.
