Can't you get special dispensation to sign a Keeper outside the window if required?

Definately need another wide man, really don't think Jarvis will be anywhere near full fitness until January.

Controversial, but, Glenn Little isn't he available? Not a great player but effective in this division.

I really feel strength in this department will help keep us on this run.

Can someone clear this up for me please? The loan window closes tomorrow? Then the transfer window opens in Jan? Does the loan window then reopen?
    Confused of Turkey.
The only good news re: the Matt injury is that as a result CI and WH will not be sold in the New Year.

Don't think we will- but you never know...

A Premiership left winger would be nice.

I would be happy if we did strengthen, but wouldn't be devastated if we didn't.

Cover for the wings is the only area we will look at.

    We have no need.
lets say we should wait and if we get some injuries then we can get a loan in.

    Jarvis is nearlly fit
Gobern is just coming back to fitness

    4 good strikers.
    no need yet

If Ikeme had been worse injured I'd have said yes, as long as he's just got bruises and cuts he should be fine. A winger on loan as cover/compete for first XI would be good, but not essential. Any loans would be a luxury at the mo, rather than a necessity.

A left winger like Sinclair would give the squad a massive boost for the showdown with Blues on Saturday and give us a much better balance rather than rushing Jarvis back.

Yes so no need to get a keeper in on loan really as Carl seems like he could be fine for the weekend.

We should move now to sort out a new contract for Ikeme - current deal runs out in the summer and I think he's shown his potential and with Matt's new injury that he deserves to be rewarded with a new deal.

Chelsea don't want to let him go until they've finalised their squad for the next phase of the Champions League - all to do with registering players and how many U21s you must have in the squad.

Besides, it's largely believed that Palace are in pole position to get him. I don't really think he's all that good, did nothing for QPR last season and couldn't get in Charlton's team.

If not Sinclair as you have made valid points then have a look at Watford and Macnuff he always had a good game against us and we could maybe use Ward as part of the deal.

I don't think for one minute that we'll sign him, for the reasons I mentioned above - but let's go with this. Why do you think he's a good player? In which games have you seen him play well? Why do you think he couldn't get in a Charlton side that finished below Wolves last season?

Or are you looking at brief highlights on Sky Sports News and the fact that he plays for Chelsea and assuming he's good?

Mancienne has had a good first three games for Wolves on the whole, nothing more. I'll give my opinion on players based on what I've seen of them, which I'm guessing, in the vast majority of cases, will be more than you've seen of them.

Well, pardew decided to offload big chris out of all his forwards, so he could probably have also made a mistake with sinclair. As i recall, he was fairly average at QPR, but he was pretty good at plymouth. Good wingers are hard to find and i dont think we will bring one in before the loan deadline TBH. Me personally i`d bring back dan jones and play him on the left, but i dont think mick rates him.

I'd suggest that if Scolari is considering him for his European squad, then he should be of sufficient quality to play for Wolves. If he doesn't fit, or we dont get enough out of him (a la Gibson, or Sinclair at Charlton) is that down to him or us?

Sinclair's inclusion in the Champions League squad would be down to regulation, rather than ability.

They need a number of locally trained, and a number of association trained players - Sinclair would class as locally trained, something they are very short of.

  25. I don't think we'll get anyone else in.
Centre Mid should be fine as Dave Edwards and David Jones should both be ok for the weekend (i assume - i haven't heard any different anyway!) therefore, we have all our available midfielders. Carl Ikeme should be fine also, although i expect Wayne to start on saturday if Ikeme is bruised + battered. So no need for a goalkeeper... I spose, like others have said, Left Wing is the only position we MAY look at - but i'm doubtful of that also. We have Gray/Friend/Ward/Hilll and a returning Jarvis all competing for those places. It's not half as bad as some make out!

I don't think we'll get anyone else in either, perhaps maybe there is a possibility that Carlos Edwards could come back if Sunderland get players fit but even that seems unlikely as Edwards was on their bench at the weekend,

We have a fair few players in several positions who haven't been able to break into the side thus far and i think McCarthy will give them a chance rather than just signing new players on loan.

Sinclair was quality at Plymouth - I remember seeing him at Molineux and he ripped our defence to shreds that afternoon (when Ward was a centre forward and scored - how long ago does that feel?!).

On that showing he would be worth a loan signing, but I don't really know how he's performed since then.

  28. Kenny-11

    Kenny-11 Guest

he certainly didn't rip us to shreds at all. He had a good game and great battle with Mark Little. He got a lucky break for his goal, Little tried a 1-2 but the return pass to him hit the ref and put Sinclair through on goal.
He spent the 2nd half diving, one he did on the edge of the area was just plain

He has scored 2 great goals away from Chelsea, one was for Plymouth in the FA Cup where he ran 90+ yards to score.

Not saying he isn't any good, but since the Plymouth loan I think he has got very frustrated with his loan deals. Charlton didn't play him, QPR had him in and out of the team. Palace played him but in the games I saw he didn't stand out. He seems to be a player that for some reason is majorly over rated by fans in this division.
Maybe a short spell with Mick and our team would drag the best out of him though

Well you do have to register a certain number of homegrown players out of the 25.

As far as i read those rules...

Locally trained - Terry, Drogba, Bridge, Lampard, Joe Cole, Petr Czech, Cudicini
Association trained - all the above + Bridge, Anelka, Ashley Cole

How on earth do Drogba & Czech qualify? Also is it not club trained rather than locally?

    17.09 A “locally trained player†is either a “club-trained player†or an “associationtrained
    playerâ€.
    17.10 A “club-trained player†is a player who – irrespective of his nationality and
age – has been registered with his current club for a period, continuous or
not, of three entire seasons (i.e. a period starting with the first official match
of the relevant national championship and ending with the last official match
of that relevant national championship) or of 36 months between the age of
15 (or the start of the season during which the player turns 15) and 21 (or the
end of the season during which the player turns 21).

They have both been at Chelsea for more than 3 years.

  37. Surely they're both well over 21 though? And weren't at the club between the ages of 15-21

Precisely. Roffey has misread it though I have to say it is not very clear. The player would have to have been at the club for 3 years before the age of 21.

  39. I think the key part is locally (club or association) 'trained' - to encourage clubs to give a chance to players that have been brought through the youth system of either the club, or at least another youth system in the same country.

    I read it as

    *********************************************

    "17.10 A “club-trained player†is a player who – irrespective of his nationality and

    or

of 36 months between the age of

end of the season during which the player turns 21).2"
    **********************************************
I see now, but its definitely not worded very well!
