Had a bit of luck starting the Comms recently so here we go! What's this Almiron like?
They paid £20 million which isn't a huge sum but we'll have to keep a lid on him as he'll be busting a gut to prove himself.
I suspect they'll play a rough, defensive game and won't get themselves stranded upfield like Wham and Foxes did.
We’ve been scoring a lot of goals lately and are in 7th. They will feel somewhat intimidated. We should be able to put this one away.
We want space between us and Watford.
The standard of MLS has improved markedly over the past 10 years, he was probably the no1 young player of the league. Given he'll also be busting a gut to impress on his debut, we really need to watch out, especially on the break.
Will he play? Is he match fit?
I read that he'd been training with them. Perhaps he'll be on the bench.
Get ****ing in
Almeron only on the bench.
Yep, on the bench.
standard first team, think we'd all pick that
On paper we look stronger. Shame it isn’t that easy. Got to fancy our midfield against theirs, plus us attacking down the right through Doherty against makeshift LWB Ritchie.
Come on me babbies.
Sky saying we'll never attract the players to be a big club like the Arsenals and Manchesters!
Anyone else watching on Sky? Both Carragher and Kluivert are talking nonsense saying we won't be able to attract top players because they'd rather go to the top 6. Maybe I'm nieve, but players like Neves (Porto captain in CL) coming to us in The Championship is a bigger scalp than getting top quality players if we finish 7th in my opinion.
Anyone else see that c**t selling those half and half scarves ha.
Not gonna be an easy one but fingers crossed we will do this!!
Another 3 points PLEASE lads.
Yes, that was a bit hard to hear. Breaking into the top 6 and staying there is the next big hurdle to attract the genuine top players.
On sky sports they were talking about Wolves ambition to break into the top six in a few years time. Jamie Carrigar reckons we need Chelsea, Man City dosh for that to happen which is unlikely. He feels we will fail to attract players to take us to the next level as they will go to the top six. Kilvert empathised this point by saying "if your a top player where would you go Wolves or Man City/United/Chelsea etc. "you would be attracted to a top-six club over wolves "JC mentioned that West Ham, Aston Villa, Everton tried to make the top six via investment but failed.
Back off to Bolton with you Nieve
Actually thought they had a point to be fair. They did mention that the player would have to 'buy into The Project'.
used to say that about man city
Come on the old gold n black!
Hard to hear but probably true,we have a long way to go to be able to attract the big names, and maybe have to go the young and promising players route before the big 6 fancy them
Yep just basically shat on us.
It’s a hard gig trying to interview Nuno before the match.
In one sense I agree with JC & PK on sky, it would be hard to buy world class players in there prime as it stands.
We will be looking for potential young players that might want a new challenge, players perhaps towards the end of there career to help us move forward.
Like with everything it's a step by step process, Jeff has mentioned that the spurs model more than the man city model.
Neves, Moutinho, Patricio???...They are talking *******s..
Carragher is a massive prat.
Guess we'll just have to trust Nuno and Fosun, doing a good job so far.
Great news that Jota is starting. I’d heard he sat out training one day so was worried he may not be fit. Think he’s a massive reason for our recent improvement
He just sat there and said “can they spend the money with FFP? Is that still a thing?” ****ing scouse ****wit.
also Mendes factor
Playing The Stone Roses on tannoy. Pure class.
We dont need top players, 2nd or 3rd top with Nuno as boss is just as good
Don’t understand the issue with what Carragher or Kluivert have said ... they are spot on.
But for every 10 players 1 of them might well chose us. That’s what we are fighting with.
But they fail to add in what Nuno can do with the players that we do bring in.
Trouble is we have ridiculously rich owners, however they are trying there best to stay in ffp, which favours the top 6 by stopping anyone getting in. I think we should ignore it for a season, spend the money, get the players in, pay the fine, accept the ban from Europe for a year, then carry on with an amazing squad
Lol....We've got Mendes ooh......
Yes that was a bloody irritating listen.
The odd nuggets of hard truth in there were somewhat negated by comments like ‘nobody buys into the project’, and citing the other teams that have thrown money up the wall in vague ambitions of climbing amongst the elite.
Would’ve thought our progress and investment so far would lead to some rather more informed comments.
