Are we expecting the same team or will Henry come back in for Edwards. Gray will surely keep his place on the left.

Mancienne is still out so Collins and Stearman at the back again with Foley and the Irish Maldini ;)

    I reckon it'll be.

    Ikeme

    Foley
    Stearman
    Collins
    Ward

    Kightly
    Henry
    Jones
    Gray/Keogh

    Iwelumo
    SEB

Just a question mark on whether Gray keeps his place for me, i'm not sure McCarthy will want to play him Saturday then Tuesday especially as Gray completed 90 minutes on Saturday.

I personally would drop Gray for Henry and put Edwards on the left, he's played there as a sub previously and done well. Matt Hill on the bench instead of Potter and everything else the same.

I can't see Gray playing two games in four days. I think he will put D Edwards there and bring Henry back into the centre.

I would also try Dave Edwards on the left, can see it being Keogh or Gray though.

I'd rather have Gray playing tonight than on saturday. I've seen no reason why he can't play 3 games in a week, I think it's just one of those myths.

This is one of the reasons why were are top imo. We able to bring in very good players who all give 100% regardless of where or when they play. Collins, Shackell, Gray, Keogh, Edwards.

    ---------------Ikeme------------------
    Foley----Stearman----Collins------Ward

    Kightly----Henry------Jones-------Gray

    ---------SEB-----Iwuelmo-------------

    Subs

    Edwards
    Keogh
    Vokes
    Shackell
    Hennessey

Gray to play 60 minutes, before being replaced by Edwards. He will give us defensive cover.
Henry back again to cove defensive midfield
Kightly told to stay on the right and give us balance and shape
Keogh for SEB if he is struggling again.

Having said all that If there are injuries of course.
Also on Saturday Keogh certainly did enough to put pressure on both SEB, and Iwuelmo.

    Here's hoping

  9. edwards henry and jones in the middle with kightly behind the front 2 running the channels they will struggle to mark him from there

I think McCarthy may surprise us tonight and play Hill on the left side of midfield we may line up as so. Ikeme--Foley----Stearman----Collins----Ward--Kightly----Henry----Jones----Hill--Ebanks-Blake----Iwelumo--Subs:--Hennessey--Shackell--Potter--Keogh--Vokes.--By doing this Hill will add some pace to the left as well as adding to the defensive ability of the side.

is that lining all 11 players on the goal line?
    very defensive.

  12. As others have said really.

Edwards on the left, Jones + Henry in the middle. Same defence.
Subs - Keogh, Vokes, Shackell, Gray & Hennessey.

No room for Hill yet i'm afraid.

    :D

    I'd go for:

    Ikeme

    Foley - Stearman - Shackell - Ward

    Kightly - Henry - Jones - Gray

    SEB - Iwelumo

Subs: Hennessey, Edwards, Collins, Vokes, Keogh

Gray gives us more balance than Edwards in my view; we need to play to our strengths. Let them worry about us, not vice-versa.

Shackell instead of Collins for me. More muscle for combatting Beattie & co. Though I'm sure Mick will go with Collins.

How might need a change in formation but how about

    Ikeme

    Foley-------Stearman--------Collins-------Ward

    Edwards-------Henry-------Jones

    Kightly

    Iwelumo---------SEB

with Kightly given licence to roam on either wing

All this crap about changing formatin ETC.

    We are top.
    We have been winning games

We have played 4 4 2 in every game this season.

    Don't change it now.

Having Kightly all over the place, will leave us wide open down our right.

IN THE WORDS OF MIKE BASSETT "WOLVES WILL PLAY 4-4 $$$$ING 2"

Shackhill in for Collins so we have a balanced left footed and right footed CH pairing

Retain Gray on the left until his legs go then bring Edwards on

Henry in for Edwards as this will be a tough game requiring defensive discipline.

Who will be captain I wonder?

I like this in theory but in practice Iwelumo works well having wingers playing. Might be more of an option if we were playing Keogh & SEB.

In other team news, just seen on the SSN ticker that Jarvis and Craddock are having a run out with the reserves tonight. All good.

  21. Same team as saturday but gray out henry in and move edwards onto the left. Or start Keogh left and see how it goes then bring on gray/edwards if its not working.

Henry in, Edwards out. Ward left wing. Hill left back. But in training they have been impressed with Friend and he was featuring in the practice team on Friday training on the left.
Also, if Kightly gets booked tonight does he miss Birmingham or did someone mention the ban starts 7 days after the offence?

No point tinkering with the defence unless it's required, we've only just started keeping clean sheets again!

  27. What? Did i miss the boat on this?
I thought the ban was instant?
    Cracking news if true.

Unless the rule has changed this season, the suspension for 5 yellow cards starts 7 days after the 5th booking.

Last season both Henry and Seyi played a game after they got their 5th booking (around the time of the Cambridge FA Cup game)

Ince played v Luton a couple of seasons back 6 days after he got his 5th booking.

Bans come into force 7 days after the booking.

  30. Cool.
Should have a full strength team out v Blues if Mancienne is fit (and we get no injuries tonight)

Gray's played midweek and weekends before; it's not the issue, especially this early in the season. He can't do ninety minutes, and we favour a more attacking option at home, when available.

Give Edwards a go on Saturday, by all means, but I think we require solidity tonight and Gray provides excellent cover for Ward.

Very true, it was glaringky obvious on Saturday, that we have very little shape to our Right hand side.
