Seems as we have a full fixture list today but no match comms to stick the latest scores in i thought i would start my own thread.

Liverpool have dropped Keane but are running rampant against a poor newcastle side. Its 2-0 but could be 6 or 7. EDIT now 2-1

Will Reading drop points again against Southampton? And will Brum get lucky v the Swans yet again?

I can see both Reading and Birmingham struggling today.

Got £30 on Spurs to beat Baggies, returning £67. So hopefully that comes off.

    :D

Why has Given not been signed up by a top 4 club yet?

Good question. When was the last time one of the top 4 sides spent big on a keeper playing in England though? They either buy them young or spend big on a keeper from abroad. Maybe they dont rate Given enough to sign him. He makes great saves in a poor team season after season. If i was Man City he is the first keeper i would be looking at.

Another question would be why has Harper wasted his whole career sitting on the bench as cover for Given. He must be the only player in football who doesnt want to better himself.

Ive always had the opinion that Harper is only bothered about collecting his wages at the end of the week, and not about playing football. Surely if he really wanted to be playing he would be allowed to leave atleast on loan to get some games under his belt?!

If you were a manager you wouldnt want to let a top quality back up keeper leave on loan. You might sell him if a good bid came in but after all these years i cant understand why he kept signing a new contract. But i think he is out of contract again in the summer so we shall see.

Everton 2-0 Sunderland How long until the fans turn against their new manager?
    Fulham 1-0 Chelsea

At least he had a couple of seasons in Chelsea's 1st team and they have used im in most cup ties.

He was getting winners medals at Chelsea and was part of a Premership winning side. What are Harpers reasons for staying at Newcastle?

I doubt it was anything to do with money i just think Harper is lazy and has no goals in life. He is happy just going through life as easy as possible. Its not ment as a dig just an observation, there are meny people in every day jobs just like him.

No offence intended pal but I still think Cuducini would walk into most Premiership teams and the fact that he seems happy to sit on the bench with the odd cup game thrown into the mix oughtn't to be enough for such a decent keeper.

I can see your point and i agree he is another player that you can add to the list of wasted talents. But Harper is in a league above when it comes to "wasters".

To a lesser of extent OGS wasted his career at Man Utd but like Cuducini the lure of medals and silverware kept him there. It would annoy the hell out of me having to be a supersub for my whole career as a striker.

Fuller has been sent off for slapping team mate Andy Griffin who has now been subbed but has stayed in the dugout instead of following Fuller to the dressing room.

I agree but also it is sometimes to do with being settle in the area. Am I right in thinking Harper is a geordie (well just researched and was born in East Yorkshire but lives in County Durham) so it might be a case of being settled as well with his family around him. He might even have young kids and say if he moved south, then it could cause disruption to his family. Not saying it's true but just an idea of maybe why he hasn;t moved.

In his defence Solksjaer (sp) was injured quite a bit of his time at Man. United and also showed a bit of loyalty to the club by re-signing rather than moving on for the money.

Of course if you're talking about players content to just sit on the bench/in the Reserves and collect the wage packet look no further than Winston Bogarde.

Both Swansea and Southampton playing the better football. If Swansea can get a draw il be happy even if Reading win.

Wants to play for the first team (allegedly) but doesn't fit into Mick's plans. Bogarde was happy just to pick up his (over-inflated) wage packet.

    I agree.

There is a big difference between greedy footballers and lazy career minded/settled footballers and loyal footballers.

I cant imagine Rosa is on much of a wage so if he was a problem in the dressing room/training pitch we would of paid him off by now. No one wants to sign him maybe MM is happy for him to hang around and play with the younger players in the reserves and teach them a thing or 2.

    West Brom 1-0 up.

Bale came on as a sub and it was claimed that he has never won a league game with Spurs. Surely that cant be true?

    West Ham 2-1 Stoke

It seems Mark Davies is having a decent game again according to Sporting Life. They have mentioned 'Key Player' four times throughout the half, Howard was mentioned after he scored and Davies has been given the title on three occasions.
