Time for a little rest

    Just a wee bit concerned to note that MM reportedly had the players in for training on Sunday in preparation for the next 2 tough games.

    Hope he knows what he is doing as certainly Kites & SEB looked decidely leggy on Saturday. We had 11 players on international duty last week and I would have (naively ?) thought that a little rest would have been most welcome.Throw in Big Chris's hamstring problem and Stear's knock - was Sunday training really necessary ?

    Well the proof will be seen in the next 2 matches. Quite frankly, 2 points would make me happy (in view of our current lead)

    It is possible to do training that aids recovery. The athletes I coach have planned 'recovery sessions' as part of their training programme.

    I doubt very much they were doing cross country runs so no real cause for concern. Pleasing that complacency hasn't set in and mick and the players are approaching the games with care- 2 points will do very nicely but I think Mick will be aiming for at least 4.

    Over for a week and can see THREE matches. Saw a fairly dour performance against Blackpool so I`ll only be HAPPY with 6 points from the next two and some good football.

    They would have been in to do some post match warm downs/analysis and review tactics for the Sheff Utd game I should imagine.

    I wouldn't question Mick methods at the moment, this tells the players the critical nature of this week, and not to become complacent.
    Also the physio, and fitness trainers will likely tailor the training to suit individual needs.

    They'll hardly be doing lung busting shuttle runs or owt. A Nice easy warm down type thing i'd have thought. Bit of treatment for any niggles and prep for the Sheff game.

    A nice easy Sunday. As for myself? I spent almost the entire afternoon it seemed queued up with my 3 year old so he could see Father Christmas....£4.50!!
    There were different package offers i.e Photographs with him etc. I thought were not having all that, anyway the grotto door opens and some scouser in a Father Christmas outfit says to the heir to Prem's millions "hello young man, do you want a picture with me?" "Yes please!" 10 quid and a postman pat toy later.............
