For those of us of a certain vintage Tim Flowers will always hold a special place in our hearts. Seemed the only bright spot when everything else was black between 1984 and 1986.

It's so good to see the job he is doing at the Moors - went top of the National League last night. I may pop along with my Wolves scarf next chance to cheer him , and them, on

Before my time but always heard good things about him.

There might be a good number of Blues fans that go to their games?

Doing a great job when you think of how small of team they are and to be above larger teams like Leyton Orient, Wrexham, Salford. Has he managed anywhere else before this?

Was head and shoulders above everyone else in the team of the mid 80s, such a shame we had to cash in on him

Does Jamie Reckord play for them still?

As a former Silhillian myself, it's good to see. I can remember when the Moor Green ground was hit by an arson attack, which eventually led to the merger. Glad things are on the up for them.

Saw him on BT Sport last night. Couldn't believe how he's changed!

How much did we sell him for btw?

I thought it was fitting his final game before retirement was at Molineux.

I always watch out for their results and have seriously been considering making them my second team so to speak. It's only a couple of miles away from me and we've had some family do's in their clubhouse, which is a nice little facility. They've had a great season so far and I could think of worse ways to spend a Saturday afternoon when wolves are away

Unbelievably I think it was for about £70,000 to Southampton. Okay it was about 1986 or 87 but that was a steal for even then as trust me I vividly remember the 80s, there was some utter dross going for far more money and not having anything like the talent Tim had. I believe we may have gone back into receivership at the time of the sale so Southampton knew he was available and got him for a snip. In fact their executive may as well have travelled up on a black horse called Black Bess and wore a tri-corn hat and called himself Dick Turpin such was the highway robbery that took place !

Used to watch Moor Green week in week out but only just got in to watching Solihull Moors in the last couple of seasons. Great club under very ambitious but level headed ownership.

Wolves season ticket holders can get in for £10 rather than £15. Great value and well worth a watch when you can’t get an away ticket for Wolves.

Jamie Reckord doing very well there.

I actually know Tim quite well. He's a great guy and he is always genuinely touched by how fondly the Wolves fans remember him considering he was here for a relatively short time (and the bleakest of periods in our history).

He's done an unbelievable job in a relatively short time (sound familiar?!).
I shall be there with my lads on Saturday cheering on the Moors against Barnet. Only £13 for the three of us.
For those who don't know, season ticket holders of West Midlands clubs get discounted entry to Moors games.

My dream is two successive promotions for The Moors. The vile to stay down and then get relegated next season. Then we have Aston Villa v Solihull Moors! I wonder who the locals would support?

I remember pretending to be Tim Flowers as a kid having a kick around in the backyard with my brother. I even went out and brought some goal keeper gloves. I really wanted to be a goalkeeper....then I saw the size of the goal

wow they have really snuck up to the top, Its a very strong league too. Be good to be the O's back in the league, although Tim Flowers may have something to say about that!

If they're still in those respective positions then that game could be huge. Very difficult league to get out of. Only two teams go up - top team goes up and next six play off, if I'm correct (which seems unfair). Must be horrendous if you just miss out on the top spot.

Would love to see the Moors in the Football League.

We seem to have had quite a few good goalies over the years and Tim is one that has always stuck out.
He had so much potential breaking into the first team when still a kid. 11 England caps was a decent haul considering he was up against David Seaman at the time.

I always remember one away game (think it was Stoke) when during the warm-up one particularly persistent voice behind me.

    "Micky!"
    Nothing.
    *Louder* "Micky!"
    Nothing
    *Shouting now* "Micky!"
    Mike walked over.

"Micky. You are so handsome. If I found you in bed with my wife I would warm up your slippers for you."
Mike laughed, gave the thumbs up and walked back to his warm up.

John Humphrey was one of the most under rated players. I always thought he was a great player. I was only a kid at the time mind...
