The loan window opened yesterday so I'm wondering, as well as hoping, if KJ will bring in any new faces?

Recent transfer windows, both for permanent and loan deals, have been pretty disastrous overall with the windows closing and Wolves having done nowhere near enough business.

KJ has said, as far I believe more than once now, that he is happy with his squad?:eek: Strange that he should say such a thing taking into account he has now come out and said that the team are average and he is still looking for a winning formula. He further more says " “I don’t think we’ve been right up there for three or four games". Sorry KJ but for me Wolves haven't been up there for a lot more than that. Ignoring cup games I'd say of the 29 league games played to date best part of a third of what I've seen have been outright poor.

But having admitted Wolves are average and he is still looking for that winning formula I'm struggling how he can therefore be happy with the squad:confused: The two just don't add up or go together?

So will we see a few new faces arrive that will make an impression and provide what's missing or will we see yet another window come and go with little if any activity and when the window closes KJ saying how he is still happy?

I'm amazed how many people still can't/won't see we aren't after promotion this season. It's more of a 'let's give the youngsters a chance at this level and see where we finish' season.

The things Kenny says and the things Kenny does are two completely different things. I doubt we'll see anyone in the loan window. If we do, it'll be someone we probably don't need

Whilst understanding the point you make PW why is it KJ makes reference to still making the play offs?

I always want Wolves to do well but FWIW I would have settled for a season of consolidation this season and then pushing on next. However after a decent start to the season there have been a couple of occasions where it really did look as but for a bit more squad quality Wolves could really push on?

That possibility is not gone as yet but if KJ and his team have a few more weeks performing as they have of late than forget the play offs.

He has to say it while there's a chance of doing it! Would be hammered if he said now that we are happy to consolidate this season. Too many take KJ's words too seriously. He's not stupid and nor are the club, it's bleeding obvious we haven't gone for it this season and are happy to build for next season and see which youngsters are good enough to play at this level.

Yep. We've only tried to spend cash on younger players who KJ thinks can benefit us in the long-term. Otherwise it's let's see what we've got at this level and fill the gaps in the summer.

Some could argue then PW KJ is being misleading with his comments and distrust is not good IMHO.

I do fully understand the point you make about what he says but as I so often say there are occasions when "Less said is best".

If as you say Wolves are building for next season then they will most definitely have to have a different approach to how they go about things and if they don't then are we to believe that the owner is more than happy for Wolves to always be a top half championship side?

Please can you aim this at the club as they are the ones claiming even automatic promotion as their aim.
Some of us are just stupid enough to believe them.

has "Football Manager" changed the focus of many fans? - it seems to be all about buying players rather than getting behind the players we have

There is no point in this loan window, get everything going for the summer where we need 5 first team players in quickly & a clearout of the players not in contention.

Purely for competition we need, 1 defender, 2 midfielders, 1 winger/forward & 1 forward/striker, no messing round or $$$$ing about just get them in. Get a list of free agents or players willing to be loaned for a year & sign them.

Don't disagree with what's needed but if there is no point in this window then there sure as hell is as soon as the next one opens.

It will interesting to see what happens this window first of all and if little or no business is done as regards incoming players then unlike so many previous windows Wolves need to be on the ball as soon as it opens and not dilly dally as seems the norm?

If that's the case he needs to get the likes of Eusebio, Graham, Keita etc on the bench rather than three defenders!

I note KJ is still beating the promotion drum yet I likewise see no new additions being spoken of.

After Saturdays unacceptable, unprofessional , un-enjoyable and frankly utter dross performance lacking any ability, interest or effort does anyone have any idea or even know if the club are looking at any loans deals?

Yep. No talk of us bringing in loan players that we clearly need. What a surprise!
Bournemouth have a couple of injuries and their manager talking about bringing in some loan players.
    Our complacency knows no bounds!

So as it stands right now pretty much as I expected. Lots of talk but no action. Hope things chance but for now seems yet another case of typical Wolves.

No action mate. That is the trouble. No back up for Dicko and Afobe, no decent no 10 and no alternative to McDonald.
    $$$$ poor!

Agreed - wishful thinking. That quote above should have accompanied the early Bird renewals last year and be done with it.

The lack of cover up front is shocking and I find it quite amazing as well as unbelievable the manager can let things get so bad.

The set up Saturday clearly wasn't working yet there was absolutely nothing on the bench to make the required change.

Problem is that Wolves have far too many poor forwards and when the Dicko/Afobe pairing isn't working there's nothing in reserve?

I can't think of anyone who I'd want on loan and to be brutally honest we should't rely on the loan market and I don't want us to to me It would be papering over the cracks in the squad. I think the club and especially KJ thought quite a few would step up this season Jacobs, McDonald, Henry, Evans, Doherty and others have not done enough and have disappointed.

I do think Bournemouth & Ipswich is the right blueprint to follow a season of consolidation then a serious attempt next season.

I would love us to go up of course but selfishly I don't want us to, As to be brutally honest not many of our players are ready for The Premiership yet, Honestly some are not good enough/ready for The Championship never mind the Premiership.

I know many will point to Burnley in terms of a team who were not ready to go up but that team has a lot of Premiership experience compared to ours The Wolves old boys, Reid, Marney, Taylor & ect.

I think the summer is more important we probably need an experienced head in midfield also someone with a bit of energy too and of course a winger or two.

I agree. We have no other strikers apart from Dicko and Afobe and we all know Dicko's injury struggles this season. Really poor by Wolves.

Black Coffee. Regarding the Ipswich blueprint would that be 15 seasons is this league, falling attendances year after year, appoint a proven Championship manager and buy endless end of career players and hope they can still compete? Even if they do go up this year they will be the biggest Prem whipping boys of all time the following year. Definatly not the club to follow. Rather us do a Southampton or Swansea any day.

Not the slightest indication we will be signing anyone as we all know. The two Ms want a reasonable end to the season and would be very happy if we stay around 8th or 9th which is about the best that can be expected. That is all. Effectively the season is over as far as any supposed promotion push is concerned though if we beat mighty Rotherham the usual suspects will claim we are on our way to glory and we will flirt with the possibilities of top six all over again!

Apart from Bournemouth, Middlesbrough, Derby and Norwich who I think are nailed on already for top four I expect Ipswich to sneak in also with Watford. Brentford will lose out along with us. Forest may make a late run and overtake us and also Blackburn so we will be 8th to 10th, end of story and there will be the usual talk of consolidation and an 'encouraging' season with young players making an impression etc etc.

We still have to play both Ipswich & Watford at home, I know it's not much going by our home form but if we can grind out 6 points from Rotherham & Fulham then theres at least a chance of going into these games with something to play for.

As stated previously, there is no chance of any loan signing until next week, because of the 93 day rule. If we manage to win Saturday & Tuesday then you may see some movement, if not then forget it!

A bit of guile in the fabled "No.10" role please. I think this is a building season but while the play offs at least, are well within sights, why not aim for them?

Nick we have to accept we are club with no ambition,I will be very surprised if we bring any one in,
Most other clubs would be busting a gut to get in to the premier, can you imagine either peace at the Albion or Coates at Stoke just sitting back and not bothered about being in the premier.
12 months from know we will still be wondering if Dave Edwards is in the starting line up.

Some good points. If we can bring the right player in with a view to permanent deal it would make sense to go for them regardless and if we win our next two and the POs remain a realistic possibility a loan for a midfielder, attacking or to compete with KM, might make sense, permanent or otherwise but absolutely no point in going for anyone until the 93 day rule takes us to the PO Final!

I think we will only bring in a loan player if Afobe, Dicko or Sako are long term injured. We have cover / recall for other positions.

I unfortunately accepted this reality quite a while ago but always clung on to the hope things might take a sudden turn for the better.

I have now given up altogether.

The remainder of this season is the most important thing right now, we all now what will happen in the summer if we did not get promotion, very very little and then we will all be saying we must strengthen in January and the same old thing will be said again and again. I believe the lack of activity in January has blasted out the boards intention, I emphasis the board and not Jackett.

Just trying to be positive ,by my reckoning the 93 day period kicks in at midnight on Thursday so that the glut of signings we will make can play in the Play Off Final when we get there .
    Watch this space
