I know not everyone loves these, but I do, I thought last night looked fantastic so immense credit to those who organised it and volunteered their time.
Whilst I accept there is no substitute for natural atmosphere, it certainly set the scene superbly.

    Credit due..............

Absolutely. I know it didnt exactly go to plan with the weather playing a part but even so it all still looked great.

    Thank you to all involved.

Blown away overnight and in shreds. Then not enough time and flags left to distribute to the SB stand.

Unbelievable sight. I've had other clubs fans commenting on how amazing they looked on the TV. Well done to all those involved in making it possible.

Same issue in the North Bank too I assume? It's a shame it didn't go according to plan in various ways (I think, in hindsight, expecting the South Bank to hold their flags the right way in unison after a whole day on the **** was probably a little optimistic!) but it was still a wonderful sight on a wonderful night!

Also, I'm guessing the mosaic would have been the FA Cup in the middle with two Wolf heads?

On a similar point, did anyone notice the sickening number of half-'n'-halfers about??

What I want to know is why most looked a bit pale and unhappy when leaving at FT?

    ****ers!

There were loads of Mancs outside the Subway trying to push them and asking for spare tickets in broad Mancunian accents....bit of a daft thing to do really, kind of asking for it.

The idea of holding it up to make a mosaic was a bit optimistic when the wind was blowing so hard it was literally tearing the foil.

Tears for Fears sounded great at the end. Nuno Santos wants to rule the world :) Shout could be quite good as well?

Fair play to the people putting the flags out. Think I've bust my hand from banging on the back of the stand!

We were there on the Friday 6pm til early hours of Saturday morning doing the whole ground- if it angers you that much you could always help out next time instead of moaning. Or did you not bother to read this thread?

Do you really believe I'm genuinely upset over the flags to the point of actual anger???

    It was said in jest.

    = Jest. Yeah, right.

You clearly have no appreciation for those who gave up a hell of a lot of their time to organise this. For me it was only an evening but many gave up much, much more.

Agree with you on the half and half scarfs btw

Anyway, let's leave it there eh?

    ???

Yes, right. Really can't believe you see it the way you do.

Absolutely nothing to do with the magnificent effort in getting them out there.

The 'query' was about us in the Steve Bull not having what was meant to be available with the jested faux anger.

It's been clarified why now.....hopefully it all works out fine next time, would have loved the Steve Bull to have been able to participate.

Sorry mate. Just a bit tired and sensitive about it that's all.

It was a real shame that we could not all join in as it would have been amazing. Us in the NB also missed out.

I'm in the South Bank- at what point were we all expected to hold the "flag" horizontally? And also, put a bit of tat on a stick and people will wave it! Good idea but no thought to execution. Still, we won so thats all that matters. COYW

it’s a great idea and i love the effort the club and the fans that give up their time to put the show on for us, but i’ve got to say it looked at times like a tin foil ku klux klan meeting to me.
loved the occasion don’t get me wrong, but it looked odd.

Sorry this is so long, but just as an explanation as to what happened with the flags.

After days of delay with the flags arriving, due to a strike at the French port, they finally arrived at 6pm on Friday evening.
Thanks to the incredible efforts from over 50 gallant volunteers, many from off here, we worked until 1.30 am Saturday morning. We completed the upper Steve Bull, all of the Stan Cullis, upper and lower, and all of the South Bank Display. The intention was to come in again and finish the Billy Wright on Saturday morning.

When we arrived back, early Saturday, we were greeted with the total devastation that the over night gales had caused. Flags were everywhere, all over the pitch and on the floors of all the stands. So we then had to spend all Saturday clearing 22,000 damaged and torn flags. We had no choice but to abandon any hope of doing the whole ground again, hence why there were no flags on seats anywhere else, I’m really sorry about that.

We then monitored the state of what was left of the south bank display all day, and at 3pm I decided we could have another go. I marked the cup shape out again in black, and Volunteers, Wolves staff, ticket office, security staff, Marketing, you name it, they all piled in to help. It wasn’t perfect unfortunately, that is why the cup shape was no where near as good as I wanted it to be, but we all did our best under the circumstances.

Without the wind it would have looked incredible but there were other unforeseen, and in my view, completely over the top circumstances. The Police became involved when they realised what we had planned. They considered the flags were a potential weapon and forced us to clear the whole left side of the south bank nearest the Man Utd fans. They also said that had the upper Steve Bull been re-done, we would have had to remove those as well, as they could be thrown down onto away fans. What sort of people do they really think we are, to think that we would waste a perfectly good flag by throwing it away? It’s pathetic, and I normally support the Police.

We did managed to give out a few flags to the Billy Wright as a token, but apologies to those in the other stands, it was our intention that every Wolves fan would have had one and I’m really sorry that you didn’t.

Still I guess we used up all of our bad luck during the day, resulting in an amazing result.

Huge thanks again to all those that helped.

Photos and video hopefully will follow, but knowing my skills, don’t hold your breath.

hopefully the performance and result helped make up for the disappointment I know you will have felt through no fault of yours or any other voulenteers at not having been able to deliver what you wanted to in terms of flags, what there was looked great though
