i have never ever wanted wolves to lose a game , but i am now torn re the blues cup match.

the nightmare scenario is a draw , a replay on the 20th and then middlesbrough at home on the saturday losing a hard fought game leading us into a rested reading 3 days later , a match that is absolutely huge !

we are torn, maybe 2 comfortable wins with the fringe boys does the trick ?

i just know come next tuesday we will be willing the victory.

I agree i have been mulling this over myself, i've come to the conclusion that we are never going to win the FA cup so i hope that we play the reserves, maybe a line up like so:

    ............................ikeme................................
    little..............................................friend
    ..............craddock...........shackell........................

    .d.edwards.............................................gray...
    .................jones................?..........................

    .............vokes......................keogh...............

that'd do me nicely, can't think who he could play in midfield if he wanted to rest henry though??

It would normally be a dilema, but not this season, out the cup in the promotion fight please

Which is why I suggested we put out all our fringe players but some came on here and said it won't/shouldn't happen. The postponement has compounded an already difficult month. We don't need it. We don't want injuries or suspensions. The League is everything this year.Forget the FA Cup.

A good cup run didn't stop WBA getting promoted.
Play your strongest team against Blues.
They are 7 points behind us, how do you think they'll approach it ?

In the weakest division in history. And they didn't play anyone anywhere near as strong as Blues before they met Portsmouth.

Blues will probably try and kick the crap out of us so we pick up injuries.

I want us to go as far as possible in the FA cup. I don't agree with this ' we need to focus on the league' $$$$$$$$. We need to set out to try and win every game, if we got to the final it ould only be an extra 7 matches. Villa played that many in the UEFA cup before October for $$$$s sake.

We must play our strongest possible 11 to give ourselves the best chance of getting into the 4th round.

I don't want anything to stand in the way of obtaining promotion & that includes the distraction and injuries of playing more games in a Cup run!

You're not envisaging a draining relegation battle next year then, Coops? Good for you!

Hope we lose 0-1 and come out of the match with no injuries and then roar to the title

Steve Coppell was quoted in the Times after Reading lost 0-2 at Cardiff with a second string 11 as saying

"I have to do what's best for the future of our club and our priorities lie elsewhere."

Wise words I'd say. Coppell is no mug - he knows what's really important.

They are profesional athletes for crying out loud they are paid to play for the club and win games. God what hard life they have earning thousands of pounds a week and they have to play the odd more game here and there my heart bleeds it really does

  25. Aim to win the game, get into the habit of winning games and it will be difficult to shake it.
We want to breed a winning mentality at the club, so lets use the club to do that.
Plus it gives playing not currently getting a chance to prove they are worth the salary they are getting, i dont really want any players being paid to train imo
