    Includes Matt Hill

Most of the comments on player ratings thread would appear to contradict this

He only played 45 minutes?? And was gash for most of those.

  5. Well done Matt, but surely this only backs up what i've said many, maaaaaany times before - The 'team of the week' is a load of $$$$.

The guy played 45 minutes and was then substituted. You're telling me there wasn't a better left back in the whole of the division in any game? Gash.

Obviously got him confused with Karl Henry.

Whilst laughably inaccurate at the moment - I think that once he is given enough games under the belt to properly settle in he will be seen to be a great addition to the squad.

I think he's average, nothing special. I prefer ward as left back.

I think you'll find you're not alone with that feeling.

you can count me in on this view to. I just don't think he is that good to be honest. He is not tall enough and looks hesitant at times

Not sure about the tall bit I just feel he doesn't get forward enough to support his winger (overlapping etc.) like Wardie does when he plays there. Note the assist for the goal the other week, all through Wardie's never say die attitude.

  12. Nothing like giving a new player who's been out injured time to settle in, eh Dewsbury?

I wasn't even thinking that way JB. Just that I'd prefer Wardie at left back because I (and it seems I'm not alone) think he's better suited to that role in the way we're playing at the moment.

I've just recieved my copy of the Sporting Star (not being local I get it on subscription) and there's an article in there about Kevin Foley stating that's there's different kinds of full back, those that just like to defend and those who like to get forward more. Foley sees himself in the latter category and I suppose Ward does also. Matt Hill would apparently fall into the other category. It doesn't make him a worse player than Foley & Ward just a different type but one which doesn't appear to fall into the style of play that we're currently playing.

Ward has played superb at left back he looks a natural. Its the best position that I have seen Ward play in a Wolves shirt. I think he could take some dislodging to be honest
