Same team as last Saturday but golbourne in for Hause?

    Maybe RVLP out Henry in.

Another home game where different tactics are required.

4th attempt now in recent poor performances. Over to you jackett

Well I'd stick with the 4-4-2

    Kuzack
    Iorfa Baath Stearman Golbourne
Henry Price KMac or Evans Sako
    Dicko Afobe

Hope and think he will stick with 4-4-2

If he does then for me the only two question marks are

    Henry for VLP?
    Evans for McDonald?

    Kuszczak
    Iorfa. Batth. Stearman. Golbourne
    Price
    VLP/Henry. McDonald/Evans. Sako
    Dicko. Afobe

Can Evans and Price play together though, that is the biggest question for me.

When we played at the Madejski earlier this season, Evans looked a real livewire in the number ten role, however, that was with McDonald and Saville in behind him. I would try this.

    Kusczak

    Iorfa
    Stearman
    Batth
    Hause

    McDonald
    Price

    Van La Parra
    Evans
    Henry

    Afobe

Bring on Dicko and Sako at half time if we find ourselves not getting anywhere.

No insult intended here but for those advocating virtually the same side and/or tactics as last Saturday I have to wonder if they saw the utter turgid dross served up?

Unless the same players improve in effort, ability and understanding of what's needed then I expect another defeat.

A bit radical but we ain't going down or up so why not

    ------------------Kuszcak-------------
    ------Batth -----Stearman ----Hause
    Iorfa---Price ---MacDonald---- Golbourne-- RVLP
    ------------------------- Sako---
    ------------------- Afobe-----

3-5-2 with Sako licence to roam, cover for the 3 centre backs but also attacking intent,Price & Golbourne to cover the attacking wing backs.Might even get another 6-4 !

Drop McDonald ( waits for abuse)..bring Evans in to play with Price, sure they can play together as long as Evans is ten yards further up the field than KMac is..I remember seeing Evans play a storming game away at Bristol City last season when KMac had just signed and was on the bench. Also Henry to start for VLP.

Certainly no abuse from me WW because McDonald was terrible last week. Far too deep and he always seemed too far away from a Norwich player when they were in possession. He offered nothing of note.

He is a good player so this isn't a slag of at him but the midfield simply isn't working and needs change and improvement.

McDonald & Sako are both in awful form but there is nothing we can do about it really. KJ won't risk going for anything other than Edwards back in & the normal team with whatever full backs are fit.

    I would like to see

    .................Price

    Henry......McDonald......Sako

......La Parra (& just give him a licence to roam, swap with Sako, Henry etc)

    .................Afobe

That gives us at least Dicko & Edwards on the bench to sure thing up when we're 2 up ;)

    I would go with something similar;

    ---------------------Kuszcak------------------------

    ---------Batth------Stearman-----Hause-----------

    Iorfa---------Price------MacDonald--------Golbourne

    -------------------RVLP/Sako-------------------------

    -------------Afobe------------Dicko--------------------

Went to Compton this morning and they were working on a 3-5-2 formation with wingbacks. Not necessarily going to happen on Saturday but thought I'd put it out there.

    Kuzschak
    Batth Stears Hause

    Iorfa Golbourne
    Price kmac

    Sako

    Dicko Afobe

Obviously swap Batth & Stearman around but thats not bad looking at all, I'd be impressed if KJ went for that as at least it shows he's not blind to the problems we have.

Van Gaal would enjoy that, maybe we could swap Hause & Iorfa for Mata & Carrick ;)

Interesting line up that Summer Wolf.
The big concern would be how the players adapted to it. It could end in disaster or end up serving us well. It would be a risk though.

I always think back to that horrible 3-5-2 that Saunders attempted which was truly dire! :D but it's surely worth trying something different

But we are averaging 3 shots on goal a home game recently so maybe the risk is worth taking, whats the worst thing that can happen another 2-1 defeat & boring game.

    Lets go for it KJ

I would just love to see Sako on the ball centrally without 2 men on him for once. He's big, strong & good enough to get hold of it, take somebody on or get a shot off.

As long as we are solid outwide with Iorfa & Golbourne offering us options that front 3 should cause some issues.

Try 3 at the back I say, marauding full backs are the modern way and given we don't have much strength in depth up top it'd probably help to have one of the current front 4 on the bench to come on later. Start Dicko and Afobe with Sako behind as a few have said, for me. Laterly can bring Rvlp on if needed

Typical Tring, we are trying to get a 3-2-2-1-2 discussion going & you come along with your boring ITV drama watching 4-4-2 & ruin it ;)

I would like to see Wilson or Eusebio on the bench but can't see it.

Don't want to be controversial, but arguably our form was better when Sako was at the ACN.

He has come back, walked straight into the team, and a combination of poor form and double marking has reduced his effectiveness in recent games.

Is he worth a starting place Saturday?

Anyone ever worked a notice period....its bloody hard to get motivated, and Sako knows he wont be here next season......just saying, not out to offend anyone if Sako is their favourite player...I like him too honest!!

I like the look of that, and with Henry and RVLP on the bench, some attacking options. Iorfa and Golbourne will have to run some miles thought..

    Sorry but I completely disagree.
We were horribly unbalanced without Sako. We did play well at Blackburn, but we were awful in the other games he was away for.

He tried to win the Reading game single-handed if not very effectively. I didn't go to Huddersfield (where presumably he did OK or Norwich where presumably (like everyone) he was poor.

Cannot imagine him not trying or us not starting him. If he is being double marked as he has been for most of the last season and a half, that should not stop us playing him, it should provide an opportunity for someone else to use the space.

I totally agree. Dropping our best player, top goal scorer and most creative force at a time we are really struggling would be ludicrous.

I'm no Sako fan particularly, but in the absence of any viable alternative, and in the interests of balance, he HAS to play. I still have nightmares at Edwards and Henry playing there, and the subsequent abuse they got on here for indifferent performances at times.
