Think I’d be inclined to stick with the same starting XI with Dendoncker, Traore and hopefully Cav available on the bench.

    Patricio
    Bennett, Coady, Boly
    Doherty, Moutinho, Neves, Jonny
    Costa, Raul, Jota

Ruddy, Saiss, Dendoncker, Vinagre, Cavaleiro/Bonatini, Traore, MGW

I’m not sure how I’d line up just hope Cav & Traore are both fit to be at least bench options because our bench was so weak yesterday

Agree with that. If Cav and / or Traore are fit, I'd consider one of those two over Costa.

If either Adama or Cav are fit I’d start them over Costa. Assuming they are I’d go:

    Patricio
    Bennett - Coady - Boly
    Doherty - Moutinho - Neves - Jonny
    Adama - Raul - Jota

Ruddy, Dendoncker, Vinagre, Saiss, Cav, Costa, Bonatini

    Replace Jonny with Vinagre.

Excited to see Traore, but can wait until the second half, when he and Cav both come on.

I was thinking Jonny over Doherty on the right and Costa out for Adama.

I would give Doc another go, but if he is still struggling would look to move Jonny to the right in the future. I'd stick with Bennett, but realistically it depends on what Nuno sees in training. If he drops into our system perfectly over the week then obviously Nuno is going to make the change.

    Dendoncker Coady Boly
    Adama Neves Moutinho Jonny
    Costa Jimenez Jota
Bennett played well, but that's our strongest team in my opinion.

We’d concede 5 away at Leicester with that team.

Same starting 11 for me yesterday hopefully Cav, Adama and Dendoncker on bench to be able to change it up. Does anyone know how long Cav and Adama are out for? I'd say with Dendoncker its just fitness after a late return from the WC.

Bennett played really well yesterday. If I was making a change I'd be swap Coady for Dendocker.

What's your thinking behind that? Because Adama isn't a right back? How much defending did you see Doherty do yesterday?

I think Doc is a fantastic player for us but letting him know he has competition for his place may do him some good. Jota looked far more comfortable when Vinagre came on against Everton. I’d like to see how Jonny performs on the right - I think he’ll be more inclined to overlap and Costa will benefit from this. Whatever players are selected, getting the wings to tick is crucial. For me, Bennett is the least droppable from the back 3 and Boly needs to continue his education. If I was going to play Dendoncker anywhere I’d swap either Coady or Moutinho, but I think he will benefit from starting from the bench. Adama and Cav I think should be used for impact.

    • My second go

    • Patricio
    • Dendoncker - Coady - Boly
    • Otto - Moutinho - Neves - Vinagre
    • Adama - Raul - Jota

    • Ruddy, Bennett, Doherty, MGW, Saiss, Cav, Bonatini

    • Rotation, Costa's turn only next time someone else
    • May get more distribution from the back with Dendoncker

Whatever Wolves side takes the pitch I just hope we lose the fear we showed yesterday. For long periods we just parked the bus, at home, and against ten men!!

We’ve invested heavily, so we must be good enough, or else we didn’t invest wisely.

It will take time for the players to gel but I wasn’t inspired by Nuno keeping the handbrake on yesterday and keeping us so deep, because we so obviously profited with the late introduction of Vinagre and started to get after them!

Same team but possibly Vinagre for Jonny. We'll be much stronger if Cav and Traore are on the bench.

I really hope Cav or Traore are fit enough to replace Costa,
I'd also play Jonny at RWB and Vinagre LWB

Yeah and Dendoncker making his debut in between traore and coady who didn’t look very comfortable yesterday. Add in the pace of the Leicester break and we would be caught out all game. Also neither traore or Dendoncker are likely to be match fit and probably won’t see out 90 minutes after not having much of a pre season.

I’d keep the same side as yesterday only change I’d possibly make is Dendoncker for Moutinho. Hopefully one of traore or cav will be fit enough for the bench.

Bennett up against Iheanacho and Vardy doesn't fill me with confidence... Moutinho won't have joined to sit on the bench either.

I would start with the same but I have concerns over Jonny, clearly a right back playing out of position.

Whilst he hasn’t let us down I don’t think he offered much going forward.

If he doesn’t improve over the next few games I’d bring Vinagre in.

Hopefully Traore and Dendoncker are fit enough for the bench.

If I had to push for a change id get Vinagre in and have jonny rwb for Doc.

    Dendoncker-Coady-Boly
    Otto-Moutinho-Neves-Vinagre
    Adams-Raul-Jota

Would that work? I think swapping Coady for Dendoncker in the middle will be too much for now, maybe give it a try in a cup game against lower opposition??

Adama & Vinagre looking to have a point to prove and could come out fighting, giving us a lot more bite. Nerves played a huge part against Everton, understandably!

Id start with the same team as Everton with hopefully Cav, Traore and Den fit for the sub bench. Ruddy, Hause, MGW and Bonatini on the bench. For me Adama would be more an impact player, coming on after 60 mins or so to roast those tiring opposition legs..

One crazy thought I have been having regarding the wing backs is that we could occasionally flip them and play Doc on the left and Jonny on the right, Doc had a decent season playing that side under Jenny kacket, or would it be too much of a risk defensively at this level? Just a thought like, as an option kind of thing..

Just have a feeling Coady is going to struggle with the ball going over his head for Vardy to run on to.

Think we should stick with the same team. Slight argument for Vinagre to come in for Jonny Otto, but I think the latter’s experience could be useful away from home.

Dendoncker, Traore & Cavaleiro (if fit) onto the bench too.

You noticed this in the last 14 minutes? Really don't think there's any need to change the team at all. Hopefully the bench will be stronger to give us more options.

That was the ball he struggled with in the first half against Villarreal although more down the side of him than over his head. Hopefully that game will have served him as good preparation.

I’d be tempted to switch Johnny to the right and play Vinagre (sorry Doc).
