If Ikeme is back he comes straight back in Imo .

I think iorfa should be playing right back but can't see it happening .

    ikeme
    Doherty batth stears Golborne
    Henry Mcdonald price sako
    dicko afobe

What formation do forest play? I prefer 4 4 2 however 4 2 3 1 may be better against a tough forest side in which case I would replace Dicko with rvlp and put Henry central

From what I can find, since Assombalonga has been injured they've set up in a 4-1-4-1 formation.

Play them at their own game with Dicko & Afobe up top.

    Attack, attack, attack!

In that case I would go with dicko and afobe . But if that 1 behind the striker is a 5th midfielder linking play 4 2 3 1 may be wiser.

As much as I want us to go for it, putting 2 up front doesn't necessarily mean this. Norwich away I barely remember a chance with the attacking formation we played

The formation is a difficult call.

Like JW said, the more attacking 4-4-2 was a complete failure at Norwich and it was much the same story at Bournemouth. Having said that we played 4-2-3-1 against Forest in the home fixture and still got a hammering, although that day Rowe partnered McDonald and had a poor game. The Price/McDonald pairing is working well just now and gives us better prospects of success whichever system we adopt. Maybe Forest are not quite as formidable as Bournemouth and Norwich and we could hold our own in midfield playing 4-4-2 with the wide midfielders playing a bit narrower? A drawback of 4-4-2 is that we have few options off the bench if we fall behind, whereas with 4-2-3-1 we could go to a more attacking formation if necessary and bring on Dicko. I'd start with:

    Ikeme
    Doherty Batth Stearman Golbourne
    McDonald Price
    Henry Edwards Sako
    Afobe

7 games left - let's go all out to win them all. We've arguably the best front 3 in the division; let's use them to get the goals to get us in the pos.

I know it was said last week Ikeme would be fit for the game and if so hope/expect him to start.

I too have no problem whatsoever with KJ going to a 4231 away from home against the better sides. No point going completely gung ho. The away performances have been on the whole pretty impressive apart from that run in Nov which seems so far away from whats being delivered at the moment. I trust KJ to identify their weakness and set up to win the game. I feel confident we will gain at least 4 points over next 2 games which will be acceptable

It is 4-2-3-1, just that Afobe is in the hole instead of Edwards. This is how we played vs Derby. The difference is with Afobe he can change it up with Dicko or push up when needed.

The bigger question, is Iorfa fit & will he Doherty replace Doherty.

I wouldn't blame KJ either way whether he goes 442 or 4231, can see the arguments for both. Just hope the international break hasn't lost us our momentum

All I know is its going to be a bloody hard and important game. We need to win this or the derby game counts for nothing.

I partly agree with this. He should be giving them restrictions of maximum first-half or something at least.

He should play for his country when they have a game. Should be proud to pull on the shirt every time and I think he is. It's just bad luck if he gets injured. International football is part of the game, you cant stop people playing it.

Whilst Doherty's played well recently we need to have Iorfa in for this one after Antonio tore Doherty a new one in the home game.

Otherwise I think it will be the OP team, although not convinced Ikeme will come back in for this one.

Stick to the same team. Afobe in withdrawn No.10 role. We can outscore them if Sako, Afobe and Dicko click.

I'd be tempted to go 4231 against them as we're going to have our hands full in the centre of the pitch with Lansbury moving between the lines and having to close down Gardener from distance.

    Ikeme
    Iorfa-Batth-Stearman-Golbourne
    Price-KMac
    Henry-Edwards-Sako
    Afobe

Only change I would consider is Iorfa for Doherty. Otherwise spot on.

This. I know if I was a footballer with a chance to play for England and my club manager tried to stop it then some very unsavoury words would be said.

    Ikeme
    Ifora Batth Stearman Hause
    Henry Price McDonald Sako
    Afobe Dicko

Antonio is going to be a massive threat again so need to play strong in defense.

Lansbury needs to be closed down fast or he will run the show again.
