Keep Collins in as he will be a threat from Jones' set pieces. Jones must play due to Kightly being out. Friend on the bench as he can also be used in left midfield if needed.

I'l go with this exactly... or may swap friend with hill - i think MM's already hinted that Ward could be out this game recovering. Mancienne showed he can play left back on friday - and keogh would be the logical left wing based on who we have available. May go for Gray there, but i doubt it

  6. Vokes has to come in now. SEB and Iwelumo have become stale and against Utd I don't think they mustered a shot on target. No panic stations of course ,but as McCarthy has stated before we have a squad, now it's time to use those extra that have only had an on screen role Stephen King would be proud of.

For me SEB is our main goal getter and I would bring in Vokes as he now deserves a start (pretty much akin to Edwards getting his chance when Jones become stale)

Wouldn't the F A Cup game be the time to "experiment" with the team 28th of March?

Which is why we should "experiment" in that game rather than in a League game.

  11. I proposed one change.....Use your squad depth especially over the Xmas period. Is not a mass culling is it.

As CI has only made sporadic appearances over the past month it is too early to be panicing about our front men. Ward on left side of mid field unless still ill. Collins does not seem to have a bad game since he came back into the team, why drop him?

    Subs:
    Ikeme
    Hill
    Edwards

For a team that "lacks cover" on the wings we have more than enough viable options to cover the suspension of kightly and possible loss of Ward through illness.

The fact that we has defenders who can play in different positions meens we can cope with a couple of injuried.

If Ward is out i would like to see us go with Wolv3nsam's side.

Unlike last season he seems to have mastered how to overlap and has become quite the attacking threat - it's worth a try.

It is now vital we win at Blackpool and by at least 6 goals so as to have best goal difference.

How did George Friend do when he came on at Sheff Utd a few weeks ago? I'm not sure whether he played at LB or LW but if Wardy is out then maybe he's worth a shout.

    Hennessey
    Foley-Mancienne-Stearman-Hill
    Jarvis-Jones-Henry-Friend
    SEB-Iwelumo

Would something like that possibly work? I don't think we can afford to move the likes of Foley to RW when he's so important for us in defence. It also may seem harsh removing Collins but really he looked very shakey the other day even if he is likely to grab a goal.

Even if Ward's fit maybe we could put him at LB and have someone else on the wing because he really doesn't impress further up the field.

Played OK after a bit of a shaky start. Seemed to "grow into" the role.

Was dreadful against Swansea though. It was his debut mindst you.

  27. Feels harsh to say after Collins has been a huge factor in earning us 4 vital points in the last two games, but I would like to see Mancienne return to centre half as soon as possible. I'd delighted with Collins recent form/attitude and I've said before he may be the most aerially dominant player I've seen for Wolves.

But for me Mancienne just has that bit of extra quality and importantly pace so I think we're a better team with him in it at centre half.

I think Mancienne will be at left back, then one of Keogh, Gray or Edwards in the vacant wing position, I'd go for Keogh away from home.

Vokes is pushing for a start but I think MM will stick with his tried and trusted front pairing for this match, and they'll reward him.

Be surprised if Mancienne is behind both Collins and Hill??
BTW is it only me that thinks Collins could cover for Henry as a holding midfielder

I would like to see George Friend be given another run out if only 20m from the bench.
If he is to realise his great potential then he needs to be given chances whenever possible. This game against Blackpool looks a good opportunity IMO.

Yeah, I think you might be on your own there. I've never seen a Wolves player who looks so uncomfortable with the ball at his feet. Not many midfielders have suceeded without that particular attribute.
