Just thought it might be interesting to have a comparison with Micks Sunderland promotion team.

    We have P20 W15 D2 L3 GF45 GA26 Pt47
    They had P20 W11 D4 L5 GF28 GA15 Pt37

    They ended with P46 W29 D7 L10 GF79 GA41 Pt94

Top goal scorer was M Stewart with 17 and S Elliot with 16

To be fair to them they didn't have the best of starts, but in SEB and Big Chris we have almost surpassed what they top 2 scored all season. The only plus side for them is defensively the were more sound, but it's more entertaining our way ;-)

They strengthened in January too....didn't they get Carlos Edwards in then?

We have a better GD than they did at this stage, so as long as we keep scoring lots being a bit defensively frail shouldn't matter... wouldn't bode well if we went up though!!

I think that was a different Sunderland promotion season.

Roy Keane bought Carlos Edwards in January 2007.

I would think it would be better/easier to be defensively frail now and fix it when we are in the prem, than to be defensively strong but not score as many. Finding a goal scorer in the Prem is essential, so if we have one or two when we go up all the better.
