    In the season of goodwill and kindness amongst all men, I have started a thread so the South Bankers amonsgt you can apologise to our manager Mick McCarthy for your behaviour last season. If you wanted Mick out and sat somewhere else in the stadium you can also leave a note renouncing your actions below. So if any of you;

    • Wanted Mick out
    • Chanted Freddy Freddy Freddy
    • Advocated the appointment of Paul 'Duck to Water' Ince
    Please leave a short note below and I will absolve you of your misdemeanours. We have 53 points, 50 goals and sit proudly on top of the league. We are doing exceptionally well and it would be most excellent if the infidels amongst our ranks admitted just how wrong they were when moaning like little girls. So, in true Molineux Mix tradition - fire away;

I absolve you John. May Sylvan have mercy upon your soul and may Andy De Bont purge your mind of the Ince related thoughts you tried to hide.

The anti- mick sentiments ( which some of his decisions at the time fully deserved.. along with him taking so long to come out public about the whole Korea saga) weren't solely from the south bank

This is correct. But many others take the time to have a wash and are therefore deserving of a lesser blame.

Powelly I absolve and hope you can see the love being offered by Darren Simkin at the end of the tunnel.

People are happy to dish it out when things arent going 100% correct, so I ( and Steve Epesse Titi ) believe it is time for some of the more mouthy amongst our ranks to be called to task over their idiotic ways. I'd expected more replies by now to be honest - more confessions. I expect most will still be out mugging people and will log on later whilst Job Finder is on.

I'm sure your grandkids will love it too....more of a confession than an apology, though. still, I find it difficult to get through an entire post of yours without getting bored, so maybe I misunderstood what you typed and had it down as another anti-Southbank rant.

When Mick acknowledges the crowd during the game or at the end, which direction is he looking in? I think that says it all.

No confession required Bill. Last season Mick made mistakes that lead to folks doubting him, this season he seems to have learned from those mistakes and put them right. We're consequently playing well and topping the table. End of story.

Yes I do sit (or maybe that should say stand) in the South Bank.

I agree. I still have my doubts too. I haven't seen us play well many times at all this season, but Jesus H, it is great to be winning again!

But sod it, keep going Mick. :)

    Correct.

For example, in January we needed a loan signing to play on the wing, we all could see this but nothing was done about it. Now fast forward to this season, Jarvis and Kightly were injured in the same match and McCarthy wastes no time in getting Carlos Edwards in on loan.

When Neil Collins was having a dodgy patch, a large majority of fans on here thought the combination of Stearman and Shackell would solve our leaky defence and were happy to see that as the preferred partnership. Mick had different ideas and yet again raised the quality bar even higher by getting in Michael Mancienne.

He'll do it again in January when he brings in a high quality winger because he knows that he cannot afford to make the same mistakes or take the same risks as last season.

My faith in Mick was restored when I saw the players that were put up for sale in the summer, it was a relief that the days of mediocrity were finally over and we are all being rewarded with a genuine promotion challenge.

    Wholeheartedly agree LOL

Now will the blind, disillusioned fools that thought last season was a joy to behold please confess.

Lets's move on, clearly alot was learnt on the back of last season but last season was NOT a success. This season thus far has been a joy and can appreciate those with limited capacity to recall events may blur the past into one big success.

It could also be said that the rest of the ground have trouble with speaking as they don't make any noise during the games. Mind you an awful lot of the people on here don't actually even go but have a profound knowledge of how well every Wolves player performed at the game via reading the Daily Mail and the matchday thread on this site. i wouldn't personally know fans for showing some passion.

I thought that the "Southbank is the only stand that sings" myth was largely dispelled during the WBA Cup tie, when the *cough* "choir" were distributed across the other three stands, with no impact at all on the morgue-like atmosphere.

  27. I remember one game in particular last year, when Welsh Y'am Y'am & I decided to 'chav it up' and sit in the South Bank for a change.

The game in question was Blackpool at home, when Freddy Eastwood scored an amazing TWO goals. It was the same day England had beaten some southern hemisphere Rugby team too so the South Bank were in full voice with not only chants of "Freddy Freddy Freddy" but singing Swing Low...

Needless to say, this irritated the $$$$ out of Mr Welsh Y’am Y’am, The picture of his anger-filled-red-cheeked-face, stomping down the steps in the South Bank that day will be with me forever. God Bless you South Bankers.

I suppose it may have been hard to generate the same atmosphere when sitting between the fans that have arrived via the ring and ride with their own packed lunches. lol

I love this $$$$ put forward by people with less than 1 brain cell.

MM tried last season to get players in on loan.
This season he phoned around everyone when Jarvis got injured, which was the same as last season, as it happened this season, Edwards was available.
He was turned down this season, as he was last season for Scott Sinclair. I forgot he is supposed to force Managers to loan there players to us, $$$$ he should have gone to Alex and asked for Ronaldo.

The first chance he got he signed Stearman, and Shackell, as he realised the Ward signing had not worked, he was turned down for Shackell pre season, he had to wait.

Collins was having a dodgy period, I am so glad your not manager every time a player has a poor run, you would go and sign someone else (we would have a squd of 60 players).

Who knows why Ward was bought, did Mick think he would develop into a better player, or had he missed out on his major targets, and needed a stop gap signing that would give 100% and help the younger players, did he need an experienced centre half and Ward was the best available.

We missed out on the Playoff's by 1 goal having had our 2 most creative players injured for large parts of the season, and being unable to bring in the quality replacements required.

If it is as simple a going and buying someone as good as Jarvis, and Kightly for cheaper, why have we not cashed in and gone and bought the replacements?
They are not available that is why.

Teams take a while to build, he took a club on it's knees he not only avoided what many of us thought would be a relegation scrap, he got us in to the play off's, then he took his quick fix players and replaced them with better. Unfortunately we suffered injuries, and as It was a really young inexperienced team we had players suffer loss of form an confidence.
Some of the players signed llast season were not better (or not much better) than what we had, but then not every manager has a 100% success rate with signings.

In January MM went and made better signings he bought players we could get.

Rather than trolling out $$$$ like he has learned from his mistakes, why not accept that actually it takes 3 years + to build a team from scratch.

I am in no way suggesting Mick did not make mistakes, or did not learn things last season. I am sure he will be the first to admit he is constantly learning, I am sure he knows he made mistakes, as we all do.

Stop trying to defend your knee jerk reaction to finishing 1 goal out of the play off's on Mick.

THE TRUTH IS YOU FAILED TO SEE THE BIG PICTURE

Fortunatley not every fan was as short sighted, and neither was the board of directors.

When I was growing up the North bank was the Choir, It moved when the North bank was closed down.

My first season ticket in the redeveloped ground was the North Bank, when it opened. It used to be noisy in there.

Now the noise is generated from the South Bank, the rest of the ground is quiet.

However There song sheet is rather limited now.

To all those that think the South bank is full of idiots, it may well have the majority of idiots, however every player, everyone knows the value of a noisy Molineux, both in terms of lifting Wolves and affecting the away team.

To that end the South Bank do their job and do it well.

I would suggest rather than abusing the South Bank the rest of the ground should also make some noise.

The Billy Wright was always nicknamed the Billy Quiet, may be the Steve Bull, and North Bank should also be nicknamed quiet stands.

We are top of the league and flying, yet at times the ground is too damn quiet, but for the South Bank, you would be able to hear the players shouting to ech other.

Don't you think its about time you stopped insulting people that don't agree with you?!? Grow up and learn to respect other people and their opinions.

Everyone is happy with this season so far. I just do not understand the weird desire some people have to cause aggro.

Last season was in my opinion turgid and although there were certain factors that hurt MM, I often felt that he could have done better. Many people agree - deal with it! It doesn't mean we all wanted MM gone and it certainly doesn't mean we are waiting and hoping for us to fail this season.

1 goal off the play-offs is not a success story either, so please stop throwing it around like we should be proud about it. The truth is we never really looked like a team destined for the playoffs last season and anyone that thought we did obviously didn't attend very many matches.

Now lets get back to this season which is going very well...at the moment.

No one said we looked like a team destined for the play off's.

But taking a club on it's knees with 13 players, and making the Play Off's and missing the play off's by one goal, was a success.

Numerous threads are full of people saying he was lucky to keep his job, or it was $$$$ last season.

Last season some of the football was excellent, some was poor.

It was a dissapointment in many areas, everyone admits that, the difference being most of the fans could see the big picture, they could see what was happening.

Everyone keeps saying he should have done this he should have done that, without knowing all the facts.

I was responding to someone commenting on MM last season.

Someone who has ignored the facts.

I don't believe anyone wants us to fail to prove he was right, what ever happens this season MM should still be here next season.

  35. No one has any comment to make about this witty tale? Surprising.

  36. wamp_wolf

I agree with most of what you say. Looking at the big picture last season was certainly not a disaster. If MM's 1st and 2nd season finishing positions were swapped then there would have been no dissent around the club at all.

The problem is there are far too many people for my liking jumping the gun on our promotion as if its a nailed on certainty, and then using this fact they have created to rub people's noses in it. I just can not get my head around why people are doing this. We've achieved nothing yet. If we do achevie something then why spend time goading other people?!? Just enjoy it!!!
