One-time darling of the Mick-Out crew, Sean O'Driscoll, has been put on gardening leave at Donny.
Great thread title.
Shame they've had such a poor start. especially as previously playing some nice stuff.
Did brilliantly at first with them.
Sharp injury in the 1st game was a massive blow. A club donny's size couldn't afford to replace his goals
I think they have lost another striker with injury as well, cannot recall the name.
No it's Chris Brown the guy they signed from Preston. They have taken The Beast Parkin on loan this week.
On paper then, should have given him more time.
He will end up with a bigger and better challenge than Donny in my opinion.
He's a good manager - I'd put money on him turning up at Bristol City if they continue their bad run.
Good call that
I find it very strange he is being shunted out. He has got them playing way above their level and has done very well in the last couple of seasons. They have started slow this season but i think the chairman has jumped the gun. Its only about 7 games into the season.
Easy to say that from a distance, but if that was wolves people would be jumping up and down demanding blood!! We've lost two Premier League games and it's starting to happen.
Difference is...they haven't had a pot to $$$$ in and have always sold players.
Bet SOD regrets turning down previous offers now.
Spent over a £1m on Sharp in the summer that is huge money for Doncaster
Donny are a second division side at best playing in the championship. Lets see what Saunders can do in a division much higher than he has managed before.
Any place for him at Wolves then does anybody think-No2 to MM perhaps to be groomed to take over when MM feels his job here is done?
Not particularly well, I suspect.
No, just no.
Call me old fashioned but it's the same bloody thing.
Division 1 = Premier League
Division 2 = Championship
Division 3 = League 1
Division 4 = League 2
Should never have $$$$ed about with the league names in the first place & Donny are easily good enough to be a second tier team. John Ryan's not exactly a pauper is he?
Very harsh to sack him. I think they have 9 of their first XI injured. He's done a very very good job there.
Doncaster didnt pay a fee for any player in the summer. Sharp was signed 2 summers ago after Doncaster had sold Mills for 2 million and wellens for 1 million. They have only paid a fee for 2 players in 3 seasons. Hardly big spenders.
2002-05 Sheffield United
2005-07 Scunthorpe United
2007-10 Sheffield United
2009 - 10 Doncaster Rovers (loan)
2010 - present day Doncaster Rovers
Sharp finally signed for Doncaster Rovers on July 7th for £1.15million
Was injured on the first game of the season
They havent won in 19 league matches. Since March 1st. Dont think its a knee jerk thing IMO...
Never understood the clarion call for SOD last year ... OK a Wolverhampton man but what could that experience and previous playing pedigree do in the Premier League ?
Many misguided opinions on here IMO
Can you imagine the reaction on here if we hadn't won for 19 games!
Employing a $$$$ing goat? Donny chairman must be mad.
SOD has nothing on MM, Wolves man or not.
This suggests why not!
I can't believe Saunders has gone there either. I thought he was a north Wales man and a Wrexham man through and through. He'd got them looking like promotion candidates back to the leage and then he leaves them for Donny! Ok, it's a move up the leagues, but a big risk and must've been a tough personal decision.
Separate names with a comma.
