If we can win at least 8 or 9 of our remaining games, we'll be in a very good position.

Still think we'll come up short but certainly we have a fair chance. The games against the team's above us are key.

Have to say I am not sure we can put a good enough run together either.

We will be doing well to get many points out of Boro, Bournemouth and Forest away and Derby, Watford and Ipswich at home.

Have a tough set of games in March and April. I still think we'll end up 7th on GD to MM? Another one of those seasons!

Something has to give. Someone, or a couple clubs ahead of us are going to falter. For all top eight clubs to be this hot for the rest of the season is highly unlikely. Hopefully it isn't us, but I doubt everyone keeps up this pace.

Really think if we could have added to the squad with a further 2 players we would have given it a great push, I think we will fall short and this place will question again why players wasn't brought in January

Looks like Bournemouth have hit that form that could drag them down the table, no wins in 4 in crucial we beat Cardiff and them if we want play-offs

For me its good we're playing a lot of teams above us ... less chance of complacency (viz. Blackpool, Blues and Charlton at Home) and more easy to "punish" the teams that mater and stop them scoring points. Let's be honest ... if you want to get promoted you have to be beat the other good teams. If you can't do that you don't deserve it.

Trouble is, you just know there is another tepid Norwich away performance lurking, and we cant afford any slip ups at all to make the play offs
Cardiff, Bournemouth , Boro and Forest away...jeeze.... thats hard ... and the games against Forest and Watford...who can call them... sadly I reckon we will finish where we are now and questions must be asked of our ambition regarding loan signings and transfer dealings
Two more qulaity additions and we would have stormed, what is, a very poor league

Rosehill you have hit the nail firmly on the head. 100% agree with your post. Great to see KJ setting up with 2 strikers from the start rather than chasing games near the end. It's definitely the way to go. As you say my only worry would be injury to any forward and we will be looking really short of options. Can't believe we haven't brought in some cover and got them familiarised with the squad and up to speed ready to be called upon. Imagine Dicko or Afobe out for a few weeks and us bringing in a loanee who isn't sharp and match fit. Fingers crossed it doesn't happen but it shouldn't have come to this. I still think we can finish 6th above Brentford and Bournemouth.

merseawolf, even if we had someone at the club to replace either player if they were to get injured they wouldn't be sharp and certainly not match fit. It is all to play for but as I look at it we are outsiders with a chance. I'm also conscious that Forest appear to be building up a head of steam and though they are behind us could be a real threat also.

I suppose the good thing is that a load of teams that we are due to play need 3 points from every game and would see a draw as a waste, so hopefully we are about to see a lot of open games where the pace of our front 4 can exploit ?

Limerick, I would feel much more confident if we had got a couple in during the last window and got them working with the squad but looks like we will be seeing the season out chancing to luck that our forwards stay fit. Forest will have to go on an incredible run to reach play offs but in this league anything is possible. 2points a game will see us comfortably in so lets not get too downhearted at a few dropped points that is bound to happen. Lets just pray for some good fortune and plenty of wins.

We just have to go for it ,six points behind factoring in GD.

Normally 73/74 will get you into the playoffs but may need 2/3 more this season as top eight are so close together.

I have a horrible feeling that the 2 points we threw away at Millwall is going to come back and bite us on the $$$$

Whilst everyone has alluded to the fact despite two comprehensive home wins we've not made up any ground on our immediate rivals we've now reeled in pretty much all of the play-off positions and they are all catchable. Between now and May at least one of those sides will lose form. I'd say 76 points would be enough, 22 points from 13 games I think is realistic to believe we can achieve.

There's also no real pressure on us, we've got nothing to lose. Teams like Bournemouth, who've been up there all season, will be looking over their shoulders and starting to panic. Big game on Saturday though, bring it on!

Our record this season against the teams we have left to play isn't great . I'm more confident of picking up points away from home as the way we set up really suits a counter attacking team with with pace which is us at the moment.

It's all to do with momentum. We have it at the moment, Bournemouth seem to have lost it. I think we'll finish in the play offs.

We may just have hit form at the right time for the run in and I have always felt that one or two of the teams in the top 5 or so will start to drop points.

in our current position i should hope we have some loans sorted to help push through.

but i fear the current good results will mean a lapse back into complacency.

Its an odd season, with the points spread, and the strong possibility that the three relegation places may already be decided by the start of April.

It could easily be 80 points this year for sixth place, (I believe 82 is the record for a 46 game season, in League One). That means we need at least two points a game, in a fairly tough run-in, or 8 wins and a couple of draws.

Doable but doubtful imo, and depending too much on the three main attackers all staying fit which is a big ask.

I expect 7th or 8th on a very high total, (77 or 78), but would love to be surprised.

Next two games will be vital in giving the sense of how it is going to end up. 2 wins and we will be in the thick of it, 2 draws losing track, and 2 defeats then it will be very difficult.

I trust you'll have a couple in The Stile before getting all your kit off! ;)
