Right, beings as Sheff Utd have done what we all knew they would do- who is now injured?

Only a radio verdict I'm afraid :p but sounded like first half we were under the cosh and defended well, second half finished well and after our 3rd (despite the fact SheffUtd scored!) we sounded much more comfortable. Hopefully the stretchers were precautions and Jones had just had a knock. Murray sounds less promising though :(

Incredibly result, but I can't help but feel a bit of sympathy for a certain Matt Murray. The poor bloke just can't win and hopefully his injury isn't too serious - but according to the Hereford commentary he collapsed after a goal kick so it sounds as if his knee injury is haunting him again; will he come back from this?

Thought we'd lose tonight, perhaps I should start having more faith!

Fantastic result, nice one lads, well done Mick, happy days :D

  6. Awesome result, glorious!!

Great battling performance, lets hope some of the injuries are so bad..

    The table looks sweet

  7. Well what a strange evening. I should be buzzing with that result, but i can't quite get into it. Matt Murrays injury has to be the major one - doesn't sound promising at all :(

Then Dave Edwards, Dave Jones & Carl Ikeme all injured. I spose we'll see how serious they are in the next day or two.

Birmingham is going to be a really tough game now. I seriously think Mick will have to get a couple of players in on loan before the weekend now, def another keeper as we've gone from three to one in the space of a night!

As for the game itself, we were very very lucky. At 1-0 they scored a goal that was disallowed when it was clearly over the line. And they hit the post three times. Sure, as the $$$$ing $$$$ on WM just said, we won't be that lucky twice, but we got the points on the board again, i just hope that the long term effects aren't too serious.

We've had our luck tonight, but we've had that luck coming for some time!

Great, great win. Beyong my wildest thoughts to be honset.

As others have said though, the injuries really take the gloss off. Lets hope non of them are too serious.

As for Murray, I don't want to start speculating about the injury. I'll have everything crossed though.

  12. 12 points clear of reading, unbelievable result - we never win at Southampton and we NEVER win at Sheff Utd. My signature literally looks unbelievable - I've never known anything like this set of results - SEB and Iwelumo turn our attacking play into lethal, goalscoring play. Injuries are a worry - two CMs injured, time to hold up your hand Mark Davies.

  13. Does anyone know if ebanks-blake's booking takes him to a suspension?

Just seen one of Big Chris' goals...What a finish...

Exceelent result, but i was quitely confident.

Ive excepted now that the bubble will not burst. (touch wood)...

As for the injuries...im not worried. We dont know how serious they are and im sure the squad is good enough.

SEB: Don't think he was on 4 yellows, no.

The silver lining(s) from these injuries could be
    1. Hennessy getting his place back and knowing he has to play well to keep it
    2. Davies will hopefully have a role now and it's time to see if he's as good as we've been hoping.
Can't see much good in losing more wing cover or Murray going off though.
Any ideas how the reserves i.e. Craddock & Jarvis got on? How long they played etc?

My feelings from the start were saying it would be a Wolves win, although I knew that Sheffield would not take our team laying down and therefore their pressure was more than expected.

no. only his 2nd booking to my memory - i may be one out, but either way it's not...

listened from my hotel in oslo - had a party for one - absolutely shedded - which is quite an achievement at these prices!!! :D

but an unbelievable result lads - real 'backs to the wall' performance and with EVERYTHING conspiring against us - cannot believe this is the wolves we all know and love... these results are just amazing...just gets better and better - long may it continue... despite fate trying desperately to ruin our end of season party as much as it can be crocking virtually ALL of our players - even when they are playing for other teams!! :(

    come on wolves!!!!!

From all accounts Friend did well on the left and we have Micky Grey for that position as well with Jarvis returning so left wing is ok. Centre midfield would be more troubling if Jones is out. I doubt Davies will be considered fit enough to start. Brilliant result and battling performance - we had some luck but the injuries more than balance that up.
Oh and lets hope Mattys ok.

Great three points. Yet more space between us and third. I know people are concerned about Blues. I personally am not. The bigger gap the top two can open up between the rest, the better. If Reading feel that they can chase Blues down, Blues will be less complacent as will Reading. If that is the case they are both more likely to chase us down too. If a sufficient gap opens up, all being well, teams in the play off positions will resign themselves to playing for the positions 3 to 6.

I hope that the injuries to Jones, Edwards and Ikeme aren't more than strains or brusing. If Jones and Edwards remain out, I'd be tempted to keep Foley in midfield.

The strike partnership is fantastic! Well done to SEB and Big C. Brilliant return from them this season and on the score sheet yet again.

  28. Injury update from Mick is as follows -

    Kights has broken his nose.
Ikeme has needed stitches down his shin.
    Dave Edwards was concussed.
and no news on Dave Jones.

    Very early of course...

Just changed internet provider so missed listening to the game. Back on cyberspace to be greeted by a beautiful site of 3-1 to us (as I predicted by the way....). Effing A!

Bad news about Matt but I've got to be honest I really can't see Matt playing again, I hope I'm wrong but I think Matt might have to take a leaf out of Ndah's book. Like I said, I hope I'm wrong.

Sounds like both Ikeme and Hennessey had great games. Steve Cotterrill on Sky Sports said they would both be hard to leave out so Mick's hand might be forced anyway if Ikeme is out for a while. He also had a lot of praise for Collins and Stearman.

3 great goals. Big Chris showed great composure for his first and the other two were'nt bad either!

Shows what great strength in depth we have with Mancienne out, injuries during the game but everyone seems to come in and do a great job.Shame about all the injuries - we can just hope they are all ok but Matt's sounds worrying.

I'm just glad we only have to play the dirty yorkshire $$$$$ twice a season, and they will be out of the way by the new year.

I think the injury to Ikeme is very unfortunate because he's been excellent as everyone has said. Having said that Hennessey has experience of big games and Ikeme doesn't - personally I'd prefer Wayne in goal on Saturday.

Hope Jones and Edwards recover too - both have been excellent. Kightly should be able to play with a broken nose, shouldn't he?

Great result tonight, lets do it again Saturday.

  35. what a great result - these are the games that will define our season - tough games like these always result in injuries - to be only the second side to beat Sheff Utd at home is fantastic...

hopefully the injured can recover by Saurday and we can do a job on Blues...

  36. I broke my nose in the first half of a match once and managed to finish the game. But I found the swelling etc just got worse over the next few days. So kites may well be struggling (my eyes closed up for one) by saturday, let's hope not though

It's a fantastic away result to a team that have been in good form and especially so at home. Sounds like we were in the wars but did we expect anything less? I hoped for a draw so utterly chuffed by this one. CI's second was a corker too!

How did they get away with no bookings and we get three??

  39. Just seen the goals - Big Chris's first was very skillful from a tight angle, his second was a cracking volley and SEB's third was a great finish...
