    Couldn't agree more.

Whilst Blatter is a total $$$$,Scudamore now poses more of a threat to the game in this country.

Mind you his comment about women footballers wearing skimpy/tighter shorts wasn't such a bad one........;)

He's absoulutely right, the only thing is the Premier League couldn't give a toss about the National side or any aspirations this Country has about hosting the tournament.

He's like your senile old relative who talks gibberish 95% of the time and then come out with something where you think, "Hey, that's right and remarkably lucid!" With the threat of losing support for the World Cup bid hanging over this, I think the Premier League will be under an awful lot of pressure to backtrack. However, they seem to have little regard for anything but lining their own filthy pockets to care two hoots about the good of the game. I hate the Premier League bosses and their money grabbing ways. They have done more to ruin football than anything Sepp Blatter could ever dream up.

I can't help thinking some sort of deal with fifa could be made by the premier league providing a suitable ammount of cash/fifa branding of the games could change his mind.

Look at Jack Warner, as soon as the friendly is arranged with England suddenly he's our friend again.

The Premier League top brass will do everything they can to get this extra game. They don't give a toss about England's bid for the World Cup, only whether they can line their own pockets more.

The Greed League - but don't we all wish Wolves were there?

  8. Spot on Toon.

I loathe the Premier League and everything it stands for, and have done since 1992. Greedy, selfish, arrogant bunch of overpaid $$$$$$s who care as much for the fans as I do for Jonathan Ross. $$$$$$$s.

    I quote me yesterday:
"Also can people bear in mind when someone like Blatter or especially Platini (with his typically French deep seated anglophobia) attack the Premier League it is out of jealous and their desire to control the world's most lucrative league. Lets keep it in our hands and out of UEFA and FIFAs, don't play their games."

    Blatter's revealing quote:
"This is abuse. The rich Premier League is trying to get richer and wants to expand the importance of that league."

Lets push on if Blatter opposes it. Obviously we ourselves realise the current propsal is stupid but I think playing the League cup SFs abroad and/or the QF would be a goer. We must maintain the English leagues pre-eminent position. The biggest money means the best players. The tax that clubs and players pay makes football tv rights a key export for this country. Keep your snout out of our trough Blatter.

So you're opposed to it really, but because Blatter is against it, you're in favour? Genius. You let your xenophobia and bigotry come before common sense. You're a piece of work.

No I would love English games to be played abroad provided it is done right as I have stated before. Blatter being against it is just another reason to support it. So I am the xenophobe for supporting games being played aborad and your not for opposing it?

You're not very smart are you? You are a tool thats for sure just your not the sharpest one in the box. Actually read what I said and then construct an argument not relying on buzzwords.

When Sepp Blatter opposes an idea it says all you need to know about how good it is.

FA has missed a real opportunity to establish its authority over the PL here. It should have vetoed this suggestion itself last week, instead letting Blatter take all the plaudits.

I'm not going to be drawn in as I never argue with imbeciles as they always drag you down to their level and beat you with their greater experience.

It is not good for the game to have one league so much stronger than the others.

Look at Italian football in the early 1990's. The Italian clubs were so much richer than any other that they bought every decent player going. This resulted in sO many world class players warming the bench - not good for the game.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely. What we saw from the greed culture was the implosion in the Italian games through match fixing and financial irregularities, resulting in a far weaker league.

    I concur;).

Germans are the most pro English people you can meet. I am afraid I find it slightly embarassing when people bash the people we arguably have most in common with.

Even the Italians would admit corruption has always been a problem whether football, business or politics. Its cultural thing. I wouldn't be concerned about it in this country.
The league cup would give all clubs a chance. The money does flow down through transfers, did n't the PL clubs up their payments voluntarily to the lower league clubs recently anyway? If season ticket holders were given a raffle, with a reasonable chance to win, for an all expenses paid trip to LA and San Francisco to follow the team etc. would garner the idea support. It can be made to work.

Never understood what most have against the Germans. They're some of the most apologetic people you'll ever meet and a nation that is so open about it's past it's quite unbelievable (considering what their past involves).

Playing an extra game is simply unfair. If you're battling relegation and you draw a Man utd or Chelski while the team just below you draw Fulham/Wigan/Derby, you'll rightly feel hard done to.

If they want to play an extra games make it a cup competition. If they want to make it competative, let the cup winner geta place into the (so called) Champions league instead of the 4th place in the prem. Don't mess with a good league format.

You'd have just died of embarrassment 1939-1945 then.
