Sounds like he had another fantastic game today and great to hear the fans chanting his name. Has been imperious for the last 4 or 5 games now.

His best run of form at the Club?

    It has to be.

Probably the best kamikaze style ball blocker on earth!

Always had a soft spot for Stears. Haven't seen him stumble over when going forwards for a while now.

Always rated him and I think now he's showing he's comfortably our best defender.

And we'll still need to get rid of him again should we get within whistlin' distance of the Prem.

I think he has been our best player this season. The one big error Jackett made was dropping him, which seems even more ludicrous now.

To be fair it is easier when you're coming from such a low base.

Stearman continued his run of superb form today. Our best defender at the moment and I am sure that some of the inspirational defending and blocks he puts in is rubbing off on others.

I was by no means a Stearman fan, he seemed to have a calamity a game, triangle shaped head and boots that meant that clearances shot off in all directions - at the moment, this is all absent and he must be the first name on the teamsheet.

I think Stears is playing well and has been most of this season. His blocking ability is great.

Still some issues in the middle of defence though, probably more to do with the overall unit and not gelling totally (several clear chances today for Blackburn from straight forward crosses, but no challenge from our defenders - need to get his sorted asap).

I think our best defender is Scott Golbourne; unfortunately now knackered but Stears runs him close.

Iorfa though looks extremely promising for our future defence and his pace is electric too. Great prospect IMHO.

The best part is still hunt taking there full back out after the ball was out of play!

His girlfriend had a baby the other week. Maybe that has helped inspire his performances?
    He has been outstanding.
Keep up the great form Stears!

Tending to a newborn and the subsequent constraints on his time could explain why his hair style seems to be getting madder every game.

I agree mate, the back four played very well, the central two compliment each other and the two young full backs have slotted in well and Ikeme was commanding.

Solid performance, we just to finish teams like that

Loved the team celebrating with the away fans great touch by Batth

    That is 100% correct
If maturity can lead to removing the error per game he used to suffer from, he could be a seriously good player.

He's always been a good centre half. I think a lot of people forgot how young he was when he was playing for us in the PL.

He was superb for us in our promotion season the problem came when Mick shoved him at right back in the PL.

Nice to see him back at the heart of our defence and should never have been dropped, if you had a centre half in the Stearman mould that didn't make the odd mistake he'd be playing for a top team in the PL you just have to accept the odd mistake at the expense of the other things he brings to the team.

Although he was dodgy before he was dropped and has been brilliant since his return so maybe it was a stroke of genius?

As they came to the away fans at the end of the game I'm sure from the gestures than DB was taking the mickey out of him for his header against the post, which he was obviously taking in good spirit!

He seems to have a determination and steeliness I've not witnessed in him before. He's playing as if he's got to get back to the Prem and have another crack at it. His aggression and command is awesome and will inspire all the young lads in the team. Long may it continue.

He probably enjoys being one of the more senior players now and helping the younger lads.

Did notice at Sheff Wed that he was talking to Hause a lot through his nervous start. Obviously made a comment today when Hause tried something a bit too clever and Hause waved an arm at him as if to say 'you don't need to tell me'.

Always had a lot of time for Stears and delighted he is now a mainstay in the team and showing just what a good player he is.

Agree with the comment about him being a leader to Hause. It's great to see them more comfortable going forward occasionally now.

Stearmans been our best defender for some time now, thought he was exceptional last season too.

Shame he doesn't always get the kudos he deserves becasue some people automatically think back to some poor performances when he was generally being played out of position years ago!

I'm so pleased that Stears has got a thread for himself. He's always given 100% for this club and never hides when things get rocky.

Yes he's made the odd error and been vilified at times but I thought it was an unwritten law for supporters that where a player shows that level of commitment that Richard has, he should receive our full support, in spite of the odd gaffe.

Perhaps at last, he's going to get the support and recognition that his heroic efforts for the Wolves over the years, fully deserve!

Stearman is a very effective player at this level. In fact the squad in terms of individuals as opposed to 'depth' is again a very good Championship side.

In the big league Stearman won't be good enough. When he did play in that league his tendency for gaffes were punished and will be again if he ever plays there. In this league he can get away with it.

The danger is because KJ has done such a good job the 'success' currently being enjoyed will again lull too many into the idea the board 'knows what it's doing' which it does at this level while the 'adviser' is allowed to 'advise'.

But if anyone wants to see the club established in the top flight for longer than a season or two the Stearmans need thanking and replacing with players who can take the club to 'the next level to use a well worn cliché.

He still is making mistakes just we are getting away with them at the moment!

The width of the post and yesterday he would have been the villain for scoring a ridiculous own goal, against Brentford Andre Gray's header (another width of the post) goes in and we question Stearmans marking.

But as someone stated, if he wasn't making mistakes he wouldn't be at Wolves, so it is wrong to expect the complete defender!

You may well have a point there but if Stearman won't be good enough non of our central defenders will. Theres a lot of love for Batth because hes got a funny song and a local lad etc but Stearmans been head and shoulders above Batth for 2 seasons now in my opinion.

I think he is a bit of a confidence player, at the moment he is way ahead of Batth performance wise, at other times in his Wolves career, he has looked bloody awful though (and not just when playing at RB).

Absolutely terrific yesterday though and my man of the match. People see games differently and have personal favourite players and players they dislike, that will never change.

I thought Henry was superb yesterday and ran Stearman close to M.O.M yet on another thread a poster said he though he was poor and only slightly better than VLP (who I am still unimpressed by).

I suppose that the difference of opinions is what makes this forum interesting / annoying (delete as applicable).

The bloke always give 100% - you cannot fault him for that. For that reason alone, I can forgive the occasional mistake. He has a good bond with the fans & is always one of the first players to acknowledge our travelling support.
