Didn't I hear that feeder clubs were against some rule/law in some way? I may have dreamt it...

If the Hungarian club think they have to go through all this rigmarole just to get first dibs on Denes Rosa, they're sorely mistaken.

Sounds promising, we need some foreign talent if we go up, good to see the Rosa debacle hasn't put us off!

I fear we may offer them Rosa and they pull out of the feeder club deal........

Good news- exactly the kind of proactive approach that can yield benefits. Though i would have thought that as Liverpool and sheff Utd have strong links with Hungarian teams- another country would have been better?

I'm pretty sure the FA doesn't allow them (i.e. none of its members can become one); is that what you're thinking of?

Surely you can have unofficial feeder clubs and get round it though? Like I've never heard that Stockport or Hereford are our feeder clubs, but we've loaned several players to both of those over the last few years.

Yes. They are talking about an "Alliance', not a feeder club per se. A true feeder club is like Castilla in Spain, whereby it's effectively a reserve term that plays in a lower division of the same league.

Sounds good. A few more alliances like these around the globe could be the way forward if we are going to compete with the big boys on the international stage in the future and have a chance of bringing in some of the better players in foreign countries. Would be good to establish links with a club or two in the Far East and Africa also. We had/have some kind of link with an Indian club I believe although this may be more of a PR exercise.

Aren't Royal Antwerp an "unofficial" feeder team for Man. United. It's where Ebanks-Blake, amongst others, has been sent out in the past.

I remember them from school on the Panini stickers...unsmiling square jawed communists with dodgy haircuts.

i think i remember iam mcfaul of newcastle making a spectacular save against upjest doza on sportsnight once?

or am i confusing it with a great save by ian mckechnie of hull on star soccer?

The "Dozsa" name signified that they were the official team of the police. Now, I can't help feeling that aligning yourself to the police in a Soviet Bloc country is not really going to help with attendances (though, on the plus side, I'm guessing crowd trouble was minimal).

Looks like the stewards might be going to get a bit hard core - following us home and breaking our legs because we wouldnt sit down!
