There is alot of doom and gloom on here today and yes, the way we threw away two valuable points last night was disappointing but I think we need to take stock of the current position we find ourselves in. I'm not a happy clapper optimist and have been waiting for things to go belly up all season but we are in a fantastic position. True, we haven't been great in recent weeks but ask yourself this - during this recent sticky spot in terms of form, have teams immediately below us made up any real ground? No. Blues and Reading are still being kept at arms length and are also dropping points in games they should be winning. We have tricky games coming up but Blues have to play Blackpool away, Palace away and an in form Cardiff side. Reading have to go to Swansea, QPR and are playing the best away side in the league on the 27th! I suppose the good thing about the negativity on here is that it shows how far we have come but lets not lose sight of where we are. "The target always, I believe, is 92 points" - McCarthy (30/12/08). So 34 points from 20 games is the target - 1.7 points per game. Even with our dip in form in the last calender month we have lost only once and averaged 1.71 points per game. Here's to a happy New Year.
