Early 2nd half goal go Preston just keep the mothers out.
Still think they'll get something out of it but United are dreadful this year.
Van Gaal has made them worse to watch than Moyes despite having spent £155m. Loved seeing him get reeled in by Big Sam's comments the other week.
Would love to watch them go out but Broadchurch is on...
1-1 Come on Preston
Ashley young coming on has improved manure - before that they were really stinking the place out - although they had most of the possession they didn't have a shot on goal
Damn filamanie scores
Manure now winning, there will be a few breathing a sigh of relief on here.
1-2 there we go - just have to wait for Arsenal to stuff them now - unless of course Preston gut them.
Gonna scum out of this I think. That Falcao has been an utter $$$$ buy for how many millions!
They don't play his game to be fair
He has been utterly clueless at Utd.
Playing a system that does suit a single player Utd have at their disposal.
Instead of wasting all their money on Falcao they should have brought in Sanchez, made a decision on where Rooney plays and move on either RVP or Mata based on that.
Even Ed Woodward could have managed to beat off Arsenal and West Ham for those two.
Massive dive from Rooney for the pen.
I think that puts to bed the argument that only these Johnnie foreigners dive. Shameful from Rooney.
He is only on loan but still cost them £6M
Utd are boring.Attritional.
The pace of Arsenal hopefully will do for them.
Rooney MOTM -laughable.
Should have been offside, the keeper didn't dive until it was too late because he thought Rooney might touch it! Offside rule needs some sort of reform.
Unfortunately he wasn't in his line of sight or prevented the dive.
First goal should be offside hodgson and neville saying it was not a dive for the pen deluded
Watched the match live here in Germany on Eurosport who have made a quick deal to show FA Cup matches until 2018. It only started on Sunday. For ex-pats and whoever else, LIVE FA Cup games on EUROSPORT.
As the Law stands it wasn't offside.
I agree, but the commentator on Eurosport said Rooney impeded the keeper in a way where he was in two minds. Would the ball follow through, or would Rooney connect with it. To add. As Rooney impeded the keeper he should have been deemed offside.
First not offside whatsoever
Second fellaini very clever but fouled him
Third, a dive, but a penalty if that makes sense.
Thought Herrera and young were United's standout.
Mom, hard to say
Rooney is $$$$.
Rooney is a cheat
Hodgson talks $$$$$$$$
Phil Neville talks $$$$
Good on Kilbane for ridiculing them for blatently lying and trying to convince the viewing public that they hadnt seen Phil Nevilles ex-colleague and Hodgsons national captain cheat!
He didn't impede him
Yes, Rooney didn`t touch the keeper. But I think what the commentator meant by using the word impede was the keepers line of sight or his decision making was impeded.. But for me, it was a decent goal.
He made the keeper hesitate from diving straight away though. Tough one to call.
There was no doubt once the draw was made.
If a player is in the 6 yard box, there is not a chance that this is not impacting the keeper.
He dives late, because subconsciously he knows Rooney is there and may tap it back towards him. He was interfering and I think the refs got it wrong.
It's a diabolical rule and can be played against if you know how.
No doubt you are right but the law is an ass. Just lets the refs favour who they like. I didn't see anything wrong with the law as it was.
I really wish the refs could go to the fourth official and say, as they do in rugby, 'is there any reason why I shouldn't award a penalty'. After watching replays the official comes back and says 'it was a dive'. Rooney gets booked or, preferably, sin binned and we all live happily ever after
I hate it when rooney cheats/scores and helps manure gain another scalp in the cup
Could be one of the worst things I've ever read
As for the penalty the keeper was nowhere, sliding out nothing on the ball & a player had to hurdle him to get to the ball. It's a penalty just like it would have been if Davies had done it at the other end.
Offside was a tough call, got to feel for the keeper on that one as his reaction was delayed due to the ball heading towards Rooney.
The ref got it right. It is the law that is wrong.
Spot on, in the strict adaptation of the law, Rooney did absolutely noything wrong... and yes, it was a dive.... glad it still wasnt 1-0 to Preston when that happened or there would have been a ruck
Correct. The dive was after the foul, which was still a foul and therefore a penalty IMO
1) He didn't touch him
2) Rooney did not have control of the ball
1. I wasn't aware that contact was required for it to be a foul
2. I wasn't aware that an event occurring after a foul influenced whether it is a foul or not.
Of course contact is required!?
Second point is more an annoyance of mine. Ball was pretty much a goal kick by the time the keeper supposedly clipped him.
Is it? Really? So a player diving in to a tackle, the ball has gone and the player jumps out the way, that isn't a foul? Because they are routinely given on a regular basis, because they are fouls. Contact or not.
Separate names with a comma.
