don't know if this has been covered in other threads but I thought in all the debate it was worth a thread on its own.
jackett made the comment that players get tired when games come thick and fast and the squad has to be deep enough to accommodate that by having sufficient depth. yet another comment thinly disguised on the need to give him a proper squad if the management are serious about wanting promotion.
after all the attacks on here of various managers in the last few years maybe this demonstrates the mind set of the moxey/morgan and the strangulation they operate on the necessary investment to run a football club successfully now.

Why didn't he play Henry then ? His comments don't make sense at all. You do have to question what goes through his mind at times.

Says team are tired after 3 games
Te ony changes he makes is taking off a striker and replacing a left back. Midfield is what is key and he hasn't understood this in his signings and decisions

midfield is lacking and were short in attack. I cant think a manager would want to restrict the chance to strengthen areas of the team if given the chance.

Pre match yesterday there was talk, either from Kenny himself, or from a player, of how Jackett likes to operate with a relatively small squad.

Maybe those "important decisions" he was on about way back still have to be made:rolleyes:

25 players with 18 having decent experience is surely the minimum amount of players required, having lots of academy players coming through is ok but your not going to be consistent enough over a long period of time to get consistent results and gain promotion.

I noticed that. Something not right at Wolves. The squad is far too weak. Everyone can see it but the powers that be.

Weren't these Kennys words last month though?
players shouldn't ever be tired after 3 games in 8 days & that playing is a privilege

There is small and then there is too small. For too small see the Wolves squad.
Two senior strikers and not one on the bench. A joke.

Exactly what I was going to say mate. He can't have it both ways.

He does seem to make some seriously baffling decisions. I was only going off the Radio Comms but they were scratching their heads as to why RVLP wasn't coming off for Henry.

Absolutely ridiculous. Who else in our league have only two senior strikers?
    Even Blackpool have more!
I sometimes wonder about the thinking process at Wolves!

I am starting to worry if Jackett does actually have the ability, or know what his plan is to progress the club further. I am not so sure he does.

small squad syndrome=no choice as our bench showed yesterday. on the point of tiredness of 3 games in 7 days I think players loose a bit of sharpnesst so it comes down to having players good enough to alter the game when its not going your way. from the comments yesterday about our wingers it does seem strange he didn't give Jacobs and henry 30 mins each but who is going to replace KMc when he isn't having a decent game?

We don't have anyone to which is a problem but yesterday I would have out Evans on. McDonald was absolutely useless

I think this is a comment aimed at the board to go and get the couple of additions we need.

Knockaert isn't even in the Leicester squad today the player we are crying out for.

What is the point of even having Jacobs on the bench?
He never uses him. Put one of the best young attacking players we have there and use them instead of a left back!

He dispensed with the bomb squad ,morgan backed him in that decision and we have been left short of funds for transfers .

Not a lot can be done now -you can go round and round but its up to these players now ,they spent on afobe but its clear we are short on creativity at this level.

We are short of two players

A number ten, a quality one to replace Edwards

A midfield general, a quality one to replace Price or KMac

The squad needs strengthening, putting Edwards and KMac on the bench would help

I wish some of the local journalists would ask Kenny if he is happy with no striker on the bench and his attacking options?
If he answers yes he must be off his rocker!
Take the game next weekend. We play 442 and Dicko or Afobe picks up a knock, God forbid, what does he do then?
He has to change the formation or play a winger upfront. Not good enough at all.

I think what Jackett says to journalists and what he actually believes are not always the same thing (this may be something of an understatement at times)

Sorry but the tiredness excuse is a bit pathetic. We have been crying out for strikers all season. Finally we get one decent one Akobe but then nothing, the clubs shuts up shop. We have been crying out for a No.10 to compete with/upgrade Edwards. Nothing. £1m was spent on Saville to add midfield competition and he seemingly bombed after a couple of games and was sent out on loan. KJ has only himself to blame for the latter which leaves McDonald exposed if he is having a tough time or is 'tired'. Evans is a very good young player but too inconsistent as yet. Price is ok and can do a job but don't ask him to run a game.

Is it that KJ really doesn't want too big a squad and is truly happy with what he has got? I just don't believe it. You would have thought even Moxey would allow a loan or two however. So why has nothing happened, why are the club just sitting on their hands and hoping we can bumble through. Its obvious we won't make top six without a couple of reinforcements and don't say they aren't potentially out there, they are. The club are sleepwalking into another season of self-enforced mediocrity. There is no urgency there.

He has been saying different things recently! Look at his interview after the game yesterday and then his interviews when the transfer window closed.
It is very frustrating and annoying as the world and his wife can see and 18 man squad is nowhere near strong enough. Just look at our subs bench and that tells you all you need to know.

We're losing 2-0. Being out played and yet KJ only uses 2 of his subs?????? Surely in this situation with say 10-15 mins to go you would have 3 pairs of fresh legs on the pitch trying to rescue a late pt? It is clear to all that KJ does not have/or does not believe in the attacking options on the bench which is alarming to say the very least. The club are yet again letting down their fans who travel to games in large numbers.

Totally agree. His substitutions on Saturday were a joke. The lack of striker and other attacking options on the bench are also very poor.
Jacobs is a waste of a sub as he never uses him, Edwards is average as a sub. Just left with Henry then who can be good.

I agree. But he is sending out messages, possibly confusingly, in different directions IMO.

e.g. 'there is no excuse for tiredness' = telling the players they can play 3 games a week with no problem

'tiredness took its toll' = telling the fans actually they will struggle

'I'm happy with my squad' = telling the players he believes they are good enough

'the squad is thin' = telling M&M he needs more options

Obviously all the these people hear all these messages, which is probably not a great idea!

Agree 100%. KJ has made mistakes this season, more so over the last few months in team selections and substitutions, no doubt about that

    Scenario:
If you asked KJ if he could sign an experienced midfield General who was say 32 years of age, I think he would say YES all day long, however would the board sanction that with the current policy, maybe not. That could and I only say could be the one of the problems we have right now, KJ may want a certain type of player to give us that push over the line but is is not in the boards blueprint.
How frustrating would that be for KJ if it were true, it may or may not be the case and we will probably never know
