Just been listening to Hawksbee and Jacobs in the car. They were doing their predictions for tomorrow.Jacobs said he hopes United win because he didn’t like the way we played last week(Chelsea fan).Their guest whoever he was described us as Portuguese anti football ( no doubt comparing us to Mourinho).Motty had us to win 2-1.
My language was a tad choice .

I've been hearing this from ill-informed pundits all week. We aren't ready to go toe-to-toe with these teams away yet. Perhaps in a season or two, but not now. If these clueless idiots want to see us play against United with the handbrake off, they may just be in luck tomorrow.

I think the reaction is OTT to people moaning about us at Chelsea.

We didn't have a shot in the first half, we didn't really get near the goal. It was anti-football in the sense that's exactly what a Pulis and Allardyce side would do.

The reasons we don't deserve the criticism on the whole is because it was a one-off. Forget City as we were down to ten early on, but every other game against the big sides we've given a bit back on the break, which is great.

But, we didn't do that at Chelsea. We did just sit back, we had one chance and took it.

Obviously, there's no problem with that as it worked - we went for a point and we ended up getting one. But if you were a neutral watching that game you'd have been disappointed with how we didn't really look to attack.

He said that on Monday as well. He's just getting cranky in his old age. At the start of the season he was going on about how Chelsea should give Sarri time to get his ideas across, how it could take a couple of years and they should stop the hire and fire culture. The last couple of months he's been demanding Chelsea sack Sarri as he's useless.

Talk****E is riddled by unprofessional presenters who are nakedly biased towards the teams they support. Such as a presenter like Andy Jacobs who wants Wolves, commonly viewed as the biggest breath of fresh air this division has seen in years, to lose simply because our counterattacks misfired against his beloved Chelsea and we were forced to be more defensive than usual. If I were him, I'd be more concerned that a par-for-the-course performance from Wolves would have seen us out of sight long before Hazard popped up with his goal.

Is this the same Portuguese football played by a team containing 4 of their squad for the Euro Qualifying games?

It wasn't anti football against Chelsea, but.....

It was not far different to what most teams try against Man city (and many moan about) ie start the game with a point and try to hold on to it. The difference is, we are often good enough to manage it

We always tried to play our way out though, and we were stopped by a Chelsea side that were all over us. Comparing it to the likes of a Pulis team who would spend 90 minutes clearing their lines, resetting and playing for throw-ins shows total ignorance to what we actually tried to do. We just weren't good in possession on the day, but if we could have got out we would have and would have had more threat on the break. Also, we had the lead for the majority of the second half! There was absolutely no need to open up against them, it would have been suicide.

It's not that long ago that Chelsea came to Molineux and battered us for 55 minutes, us turning it around really glossed over what had been very one way traffic. Three months later, they couldn't create a clear cut opening in the entire game.

In particular, any Chelsea fans complaining about anti-football want to look at their trip to Man City last season when Conte played Hazard up front on his own and constantly hoofed it up towards him

Indeed it is the exact same tactic Jacobs' boys employed against them not three weeks ago. That such an expensively assembled team didn't register a shot on target in a cup final is shameful. I bet he didn't care though.

Get what you're saying but don't agree, we didn't really try to play out IMO and whilst Chelsea are very good, we've shown more intent against other sides who are better than them.

I think because we were stopping Chelsea creating chances we were happy not to do much ourselves, which is understandable, but for me it was a very defensive performance and if we played like that every time against the big sides I wouldn't be too pleased. But, it was a one-off and we got what we went for.

Compare the number of balls that were just us clearing our lines to balls that had targets and were generally played to feet, you'll see we did actually try to play our way out, and there were a lot of occasions we almost got out where a little touch or late interception was the difference between us losing the ball and having a purposeful break (as well as quite a few wayward passes)

Wonder if the ****er Jacobs ever complained when the "special One" used to line Chelsea up ultra-negatively at OT or Anfield?

No disrespect but do we really need a new thread for everytime somebody says something negative about us? These people are paid to fill hours of content so with very little things to talk about there are going to be times when they have contrasting or contreversial views to encoruage calls, gain advertisers and keep the programme running.
All year it has been "Robbie Savage said this" and "Paul Merson said that" and now it extends to people I haven't even heard of. Who cares? Honestly tomorrow is the biggest game in a long time by all means listen to the radio and let people have their views but commentating and throwing paddies every time some no mark who never achieved anything of note in the game is getting boring now.
Not a dig at the OP just a general annoyance

I see none of the critics are giving Chelsea any credit for pressing high up and making it difficult for us to play out which was a big part of the reason we created little, they'ed rather take the veiw that we just didn't want to attack

This is the kind of opinion that's formed when you've seen very little of a football team and you allow yourself to be swayed by the masses on Twitter and Facebook.

Did we at expansive football against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge? No.

Did we as a team in 7th place in 'best league in the world' do what we could to prevent a loss against a team that cost hundreds of millions more than ours? Yep.

Did it **** off all the bandwagoning Chelsea fans and media ****s who cant remember Chelsea being 'also rans'? Yep.

I can remember them getting relegated in the late 80s.

I can remember cars being parked around the edge of Stamford Bridge.

I can remember them just making up the numbers.

I can remember them being in a very similar situation as us not too long ago and doing whatever they could to take the next step.

    Kerry Dixon was **** too.

Bless him. Still bitter as his beloved Chelsea only manage to take a single point from our matches with them this season.

I've not listened to Talk Sport in donkey's years, but Hawksby & Jacobs were nowhere near as funny as they thought they were. In fact I've honestly been to funnier funerals.

We wasn´t at our most spiritual at Stamford Bridge.
    That said,who cares?
We got a good result in the end,and was just moments away from doing the double over Chelski.
Gimme a boring 1-0 win any day of the week instead of a 3-3 thriller.
I just want us to win every single time.

I thought that Wolves at Chelsea was not our shining hour to put it mildly.
This an excerpt from the thread Musings from Molineux ,March 11th. by @gullykular whose postings I enjoy and respect.

"Let’s address one thing first – this was a defensive and negative as any of us have probably seen Wolves play. Make no mistake, we were more defensive than a mid-80s TV personality on trial for you-know-what. We didn’t help that view of our performance by not making the most of the opportunities to break out of defence that we had. But to finish this one with two shots at goal, with one of them on target – struggling to remember the second shot at goal by the way – you have to ‘be fair to the game’, as Nuno said."

Here is the link if you want to read in case I am unintentionally taking it out of context.

    Anti-football, my ****!

Did he really expect us to turn up and mix it?? Not sure how or why a team fresh from the Chump should be expected to risk getting shafted with their pants round their ankles......the guy needs to check their home form against non top-six sides.

It was always expected that we'd choose to play a defensive minded counter-attacking game.

Jacobs is crackers if can't see the reality with the game plan as necessitated.
