    with the top 3 dropping points over the last few matches, could it be the pitches are difficult at this time of the year, making it harder to play the kind of football to dominate and letting the hoofers into the penalty area more of a chance. hennessey has looked dodgy this season so its time again for ikeme.

    Poor mistakes defensively cost us - nothing to do with the pitch. If anything a harder and heavier service should suit us in the last 15 minutes of games when other sides are tired and our young and very fit team can push on and punish them.

    I think pitches can play a part.

    In which case Reading might struggle at home because there pitch has been cutting up really badly.

    I think tonight's pitch was just so hard it was bouncing up high and the players were staying very upright shielding the ball.
    Saying that...we've played on worse !

    Pitch was very narrow and bobbly, can play a part but still should be able to adapt our game to the conditions on offer.
