On official Blues website and SSN.
It will be off
Tin pot Blues couldn't afford to have undersoil heating?
This is the risk you take when facing these smaller teams with inadequate facilities. Birmingham City - the epitomy of a tinpot club.
If it's off, when would the game be played?
It wont be off, there is still over 4 hours till kick off...
Its still below freezing here outside in Netherton and my lawn is frozen solid, Howard Webb as ref hope its a good game if it goes ahead, as I fear the replay would be next Tuesday night!!
Leeds game away at Hereford was called off at 9.30.
Not saying it will be on or off, but I live in birmingham and my front lawn is still frozen solid despite being bathed in sun all morning. Fingers crossed
In fairness, its not like this weather is a surprise. It was forecast not to go above freezing today (depending on who you believe), so there should have been some preventative action taken. That said, I'm sure Blues want to get this fixture out of the way as much as we do!
How the hell can a former Premiership team have a frozen pitch? Surely there are requirements regarding undersoil heating in the Prem and even the Championship? If it's off because of a frozen pitch it's a bit of a bloody joke. You can understand it for lower league teams, but Brum have only just been relegated from the top league in English football!
Before you jump to conclusions ............................
Tinpot outfit. close them down.
Home teams effected by the weather.
And they consider themselves a big club?
Blues don't have undersoil heating. Having said that, even with undersoil heating we had a game postponed last season!
Neither does Middlesborough or Pompey have undersoil heating IIRC. Undersoil heating doesn't guarantee anything TBF/ Does anybody remember about 3 or 4 years ago when 3 PL games were postponed at stadia all with undersoil heating due to snow. I think the games were at Blackburn, Bolton and Newcastle?????
I think our under-soil heating broke down on that occasion. IIRC one half of the pitch remained frozen.
Yes but the Newcastle one was not because of the pitch being covered in snow- it was because the surrounding concourse and pedestrian areas were snowy/icy and considered too dangerous. The pitch was clear.
Chelsea off !
I think you misheard, Cheltenham off!
Right about now, the referee is inspecting the pitch at St Andrews, where a frosty pitch threatens Birmingham v Wolves.
BBC Live Text
Just been told by a blues fan its off.
BRMB confirm - game's off
BRMB say its off. Will be played Tuesday or Wednesday
If only we'd drawn a bigger club like Walsall.
SSN news say it's off
Pretty poor in this day and age. I am taking my misguided 7 year old daughter to Albion v Peterborough; no weather probs there apparently
Albion's game 4 miles dow the road is on. Birmingham City have always been a nothing club...
Still no news on either clubs website, sky sports or bbc.
Tuesday or Wednesday? I've got work those nights and 3 tickets for this...and my brother is going back up north tomorrow so won't be able to go.
BIG CLUB fail again.
Game OFF - Club text!
Albion have undersoil heating though surely?
How Blues don't have undersoil heating.
Micky mouse club
Tin pot, urine filled club. Could they not envisage it might be a bit cold last night?! Invest in some sheets or even GASP for the long-term a little undersoil heating...
Shouldn't all clubs...
On the BBC website now.
