highlights = obviously oasis and also athlete.
If your gonna talk about an event at least make it interesting to read instead of a few words....
Why 'obviously Oasis'? What if you don't like them?
More importantly, did you get a **** behind the portaloo's?
Looked crap on't telly tbh!!!! apart from prodigy!! Noel Gallagher said they played purely for the money.
I dont like the idea of festivals that let you buy 1 day passes myself.
Next up: MobNet's report on the Leeds game.
"We lost 2-0".
Highlghts = the two goals.
No wonder certain people want a seperate forum for OT threads when this thread holds less then a knats ball sack..
i didnteven bother watching oasis, they peaked around 1998 and after gobbing off last week about being in it for the money i decided against them. spent sunday at the e4 stage watching the smaller bands, kaiser chiefs, bravery etc. much better atmosphere and some surprisingly good bands, including the magic numbers who look remarkably like the mammas and papas but were very good .

who needs 2 pay money when ppl like me can hear it from my back garden
Being a Glastonbury regular for the last 10 years or so I was really disappointed with V. Fortunately I got the tickets through work, if I'd paid over £100 for that I would have been gutted.
There is no space to chill out and listen to the music as once you get a bit back from the stage you start to be able to hear the music from two or three sound systems.
Glad I got out last night as I rekon the car parks would be a nightmare after this morning's rain.
Wow. I am getting old!!!
What band isnt in it for the money?
sorry, for the lack of words, just didnt have a lot to say.
I though Kaiser Chiefs should have been on the main stage instead of the streets who i thought were poor.
incisive stuff - you should see if the E&S need a match reporter
a few you could tell were just happy to be playing, particularly embrace who faded away to nothing and said onstage that 2 years ago they had got fulltime jobs, so they were obviously passionate about playing for a crowd. the smaller bands on the other stages also, some of them looked amazed when the crowd knew the words to their songs.
obviously i know the main focus is money, but for oasis, who probably earn more than any british band anyway, to say they were only there to earn was a bit crap
Watched a bit of it on TV. Had to switch off when Edith Bowman came on.
I spent the dayflicking between the channel 4and main stage. I was impressed with the bravery, didn't manage toseeit allunfortunately as they were on at the same time as Maroon 5,butIwouldn't mindwatching them again. Oasis we`re good as expected. I don't give a crap they said there only in it for the money, there still entertaining and had a good set last night.
report from miss yorkshire pudding herself
I lost interest after the 5th word...
well i thought it was a good review
lets hope your sunday dinner reports are that good
get a room
And a suicide pact.
haha! I had a 1 day pass for 'Beautiful Days' yesterday, I wished I'd stayed the entire weekend, it was class!
Great weekend, only spoilt by the crappy weather on Friday at Chelmsford.
Highlights: Oasis, The Streets, The Music
Lowlights: The Bravery, Franz Ferdinand,
I hear a rumour the tickets for next yeargo on sale tomorrow at 9am,,anyone else hear it?
where do you get them from ?
the rumours or the tickets?
I preferred Alpha's Rave in Germany, non of this indie sh*te ....Dance valley in Holland can't be far off now - well recommended.
on sale tomorrow
that is just a quick firesale, they go on proper sale around March when the lineup is announced.
Went to Weston had a cracking time. Highlights included The Hives, Oasis, Robert Plant, Kaisers and a good old sing song to The Proclaimers.
Getting out last night was a nightmare though.
i went to v 2005, and i thought it was wicked!
the line up for our saturday was much better then the line up for sunday. obvious highlights were "wires" from athlete where the sight of almost everyone on someones elses shoulders was a sight to behold-as was the whole set from athlete. and what a better way to follow them with embrace, who showed why they deserved a second chance. they were mush better then what i thought they were going to be-with gravity the pick for me!
and altho there not everyones cup of tea...the show that the scissor sistors put on was out of this world...that much so i brought a charity wristband of theirs. (inbetween was franz who were my disappointment)
spent most of sunday at the channel 4 stage...sun was shining and had the joy of catching the magic numbers. didnt want to see them, but im so glad i did. they were awesome! one of the performances of the weekend. follow this later in the day by the truely amazing performace by the kaiser chiefs! the amount of people who moved down to see them after maroon 5 (excellent also)was unbelievable!
then...peter kay appeared...made the day complete. caught a few songs of the doves...good. then the headliners...oasis...the amount of people was awesome to see, as was the performance. although at some points, liam seemed to think he was in brum??? songs were great, even though my legs were low on power. champagne supernova was the highlight for me.
a truely great weekend, and after reading the programme...what would your top 5 line up be if you could have anyone! me n my mates discussed this for most of the weekend. mine would be
coldplay-has to be done!
U2-has to be done
REM-has to be done
Michael jackson-just would love to see him perform
Athlete- get stronger and stronger and songs are ace.
(watch out for 13senses....fantastic)
agree with the bit about the magic numbers, in fact everyone on the e4 stage sunday i thought was great. when did peter kay appear???
O and forgot to say, I saw Alan Smith in the car park on the way out, and we talked to each other!
The Oasis songs from V 2005 can be found here, if anyone is interested - http://www.oasisfanatic.com/forum/oasis/topic/0/10275.html
peter kay introduced the doves when everyone ran down to get good spots for oasis...
he was hilarious, started ripping a guy urinating up the fence....everyone was just sittin waiting for doves then he came on for about 5mins and did some stand up...was ace
anyone want to put their 5 headliners?
Had a great weekend at Weston - although listening
to Radio 1 and watching Channel 4 you would'nt
know that there had been an event there!!
Athlete were, as has been said, superb. Kaiser
Chiefs were excellent too - topped of by that bird
climbing onto the top of the sound tent! I agree that
they should have been swapped with the Streets.
I for one enjoyed Franz Ferdinand, although it seem
like I was the only one!!! Embrace surprised me - I
wasn't that bothered about watching them, really
enjoyed it - you could tell how much they were
enjoing being up there infront of a big crowd.
Oasis were good - I know the bloke's a complete
pr**k, but you can't argue that they are still a good live
Went into the JJB tent to watch Bodyrockers, and
along with everyone else in there only went to hear
them play one song - you could hear the crowd
grown everytime they started playing and it wasnt
Coldplay - they headlined it 2 years ago and I still get
the hairs on the back of my neck standing up when I
think about it. And did you hear the crowd singing Fix
You before the Oasis set?
REM would be excellent
