Maybe worth a listen,
Uh oh Gary of the extremely facetious questions Richardson
Could get messy if Nuno takes the hump
I know he’s been practising his charm offensive but he struggles to hide his dismay at annoying journos - at least it’s on the radio
Is someone in charge of 5live a Wolves fan? We seem to have a guest every week, either Coady or Nuno!
There is a Wolves fan as part of the boadcasting / reporting team JadeWolf, I've heard him in conversation with colleagues previously.
I guess with City playing tomorrow and Wolves fairing well against the top sides, this will be the basis of the interview as Nuno will not be drawn on transfer speculation etc.
I don't like Richardson either. He sometimes twists things which his interviewees says in order to create news...and he puts words into their mouths by making a statement and asking them to agree, forcing them into a corner sometimes. It's not his job to do that, he should just ask for the opinions.
His show is all about him.
He's on now.
Good, he was evasive.
"Where were you expecting to be at the start of the season?" The best we can be.
"Where do you want to be?" We have no targets.
"How did you feel when you had those good results?" Same as any win.
And it went on like that.
A standard Nunoview then
As much as i love the guy, i've stopped listening to him, you know he's going to let nothing out.
"We work hard, its about the pack, respect the competition, our only target is the next game, oh and stay humble"
To be fair Pagey, I actually feel he believes exactly what he says and the approach that he espouses isn't a bad one to have. The media love the likes of Colin and Arry because they give great value but Nuno adds a touch of balance to the rentaquote mob.
Yeah, it was all about respect for each other and the opposition. Kind of wanted a bit more as I tucked into my full English with half a dozen oatcakes but I guess we should be used to Nuno's style of interview by now. Think Richardson said it was pre-recorded.
Me too. We've all seen the script so what's the point!
Unlike Wenger,Ferguson Mourinho et al Nuno is polite, never rude,he smiles and always lets the journalists/interviewers know the clock is ticking so ask proper questions and make it quick because I need to be elsewhere.
I love nuno. He absolutely hates the media crap and shows it. He aint going to change
Not quite true. He lost his temper at a journalist the other day just because they quoted formations at him. Made Nuno look a little bit of a dick imo, for that moment anyway.
And another couple today: I never look at the table (I don't believe that one) and I live for today (in evading questions about the future and the City fixture in particular). Hmmm, he's an existentialist, then.
I think he has a low tolerence of idiocy and wonder if he had crossed swords with that reporter before
Possibly, and it did seem out of character. Maybe just caught him on a bad day.
I saw a bit of that. Tbf I thought it came over that the journo knew nothing about Wolves or the way they play.
If you're on about after the Liverpool league game, when the journo eventually asked why we didn't play with wingers that game, Nuno was spot on. He clearly didn't know much (anything) about how we play and Nuno put him right before moving on
Well done, you've covered the whole season so far.
Thank you for the tip off. I was able to listen.
I thought Nuno was on great form - articulate, thoughtful and charming. I know he tends to repeat what he's said before but that's because it's his unwavering philosophy. It's not that he's avoiding the questions it's that he really believes in something.
This for me as well. The journo had no clue so Nuno set him straight.
I think that is the idea.
Trotting out the same statements week in, week out ensures he doesn’t get dragged into anything controversial and also cannot be misinterpreted or have what he has said twisted.
I do miss the press conferences with Mick but Nuno makes me smile because he knows exactly how to play our press.
Who wouldn't think they were wasting their own time a little if a journo turns up and asks bland unoriginal questions rather than having the ability to gain some insight from the man.
It seems to me most journos care more about the pay check than delivering something worthwhile after research.
Good one, @Pagey
What are you doing tomorrow...or don't you know yet?
