I can't believe I was reading comments today saying that Dicko isn't good enough or up to the Championship standard. What an absolute load of botox!

Since arriving, Dicko has scored 22 goals in 38 games, and when he was injured during October/November we missed him massively. Not to mention the guy is only 22! His pace and general positivity is something that gets fans off their seats. If only we had a better centre midfield we'd realise how to fully utilize Dicko and Afobe without being restricted in the middle because of it.

I struggle to believe anyone who criticizes Dicko on a long term basis, either goes to the matches or has any concept of football whatsoever.

Limited in the sense that he's strong, fast and a good finisher? The complete opposite of Doyle who you were championing last week?

Dicko is fine , he's struggling a bit by the looks of it with fitness but he will be back to fire us to glory.

Slightly overrated by the Wolves fans, but very capable at this level. Afobe seems far better, though.

Dicko is arguably our most important player to have fit.

Looked injured to me again last night and feel sorry for the kid as our lack of forwards means we have to play him half fit.

Last night 2 or 3 times you could clearly see he couldn't get onto through balls and was limping badly by the time he was substituted.

NWW maybe you need to explain what you mean by "limited" ? He clearly isn't limited for what we need right now. And if you're referring to higher level (PL) then how many of our players aren't "limited" ?

Hes 22 and played upfront alone most of the season, and been immense whenever I've seen him. Hes allowed a few off games. The shared workload with Afobe is exactly what we've needed. They'll both only get better. For the first time in ages we have a partnership upfront who are both dangerous and have end product. UTW

Limited?? Absolute nonsense. Dicko is a quality forward in many ways. He has not been fully fit for a while and perhaps that is showing but limited he certainly is not.

    Limited? Dear me.

The boy is an immense talent. For me, Afobe is slightly better, but with both at a similar age that can change very quickly. Jarvis/Kightly being probably the best example more recently.

The best thing? They're both ours. They're going to both improve immeasurably and if Wolves can add that little bit more quality around the pitch (CM), providing these two stay fit, we'll have one of the most feared front two outside of the Premier League and a very dangerous team. Pace, power and the ability to finish. Frightening to play against these two i'd imagine.

Absolutely. He doesn't have the skill to beat a man like Sako does. He's limited in that respect.

He's also limited compared to Afobe.

I notice those of you who jumped on my post forgot to see the word effective. Whoops.

See, someone with the sense to ask. I have explained just above mate. Jesus. I wasn't expecting such an outcry from a comment where it's clearly been misunderstood.

I don't think he's brilliant, and he's got the tendency to sulk! But we are a better team for having him, and the partnership with Afobe has potential.

Good on him. Still think he's half the player without his pace.

  20. Bit sceptical early season but he's massively improved. An absolute bargain and the least of our worries.

    So would Bale.

It's like saying a centre half wouldn't be as good without with strength or size.

I am certainly not one that wanted to jump on your comment and be rude mate. I just don't understand how you can label someone like Dicko as "limited". Certainly when you square that with effective as well.

In my book someone who is limited doesn't possess the abilities that Dicko does. Dicko is someone who doesn't rely on playing within himself that a limited player would, he is quite an expressive forward actually. He is strong, quick, can run the channels, link up play, very agile... he was demonstrating all of those skills fantastically earlier on in the season and I will admit as recently probably hasn't been as effective, but I think that is in the main struggling to properly overcome an overload of injuries from throughout the season now. We really did rush him back from injury quickly.

I am certainly not overrating him however, he doesn't score enough goals to be in the same bracket as say Callum Wilson, he also a Championship striker for a reason too, perhaps our views on what a limited player is may just vary! :)

I'm a great fan of Dicko - he has done brilliantly for us especially in the first half of this season when he has literally been our only forward with no back up worthy of the name. He is always very positive about the club and humble in interviews and works incredibly hard on the pitch. At last he has a very good partner but having borne the burden up front for so long and had to deal with injury I'm not surprised if he is not 100% right now.

The need for a third forward of similar quality has been there all season and yet Jackett has done nothing relying on a distinctly average Edwards as a withdrawn striker or Van La Parra as a substitute striker despite the fact he is pretty hopeless in front of goal.

Considering his minimal cost the best deal the club have made in recent history (along with McDonald). His pace is exceptional and all he needs is to keep working on his goal getting. Considering a generally poor supply line (bar McDonald) he has done well to amass 10 goals this season, mainly as a lone ranger.

Love his positive attitude and commitment and hope he stays with us for many more years. The only pity is that we will lose Sako in the summer because of our transfer market ineptitude and his instinctive communication and friendship with Dicko has been a huge asset over the past 18 months.

Dicko is a quality player and definitely an asset in the championship, Truth is he's not as good as Afobe but that's no insult..

A tad unfair to compare him to Wilson who is playing in a team who's scored a hell of a lot more than us. Although Wilson has 15 in comparison to Dicko's 9. Hardly a million miles apart considering my initial point and Dicko's injury.

What a surprise and our back up is.....? A distinctly disinterested and off form Doyle. Terriffic stuff Wolves. Dicko should be given a rest but then that puts extra pressure on Afobe.....so he gets injured and.....Doyle trots on terrifying the opposition.

Just for comparison the much heralded Callum Wilson has 15 goals and 7 assists from just under 3,000 minutes of playing time Dicko has 9 goals and 4 assists from just under 2,000 minutes of playing time.

So their records are pretty much identical in terms of their goal scoring and productivity per minute.

It's probably one of the dumbest things I've read re: Dicko not being good enough at this level. He's quick, strong, holds the ball well & can finish honestly I do wonder with some fans some time on what planet they are on.........

I love Dicko. Quality little player with pace and power and will to win. Only 22 and will get better, I think.
He is easily good enough for this level by a mile.

I still think he is feeling his hamstring trouble. We could do with another pacey striker on loan ideally.
