Wasn't he found guilty of running a Ponzi scheme? As the old saying goes, fools and their money are easily parted.

He wanted to join a bigger club so he signed for Bristol City. Says it all really.

Robbie Keane and Jimmy Bullard are apparently amongst the footballers involved.

Leon? He was knocking around during McIndoe's spell with us, plus he's also got the Coventry connection but I'm not sure if their paths ever crossed at Cov.

Just looked at the 2006/7 squad who played with MM and only Leon Clark & Carl Ikeme are our current players who played with him back then!

Another misleading headline. Only one current Wolves player so why a headline making out it's 6?

On the subject itself, more fool those involved.

I think it may refer to 6 stars at the time.

The ex-Wolves player quoted lost £75k - what 3-5 weeks wages? My heart bleeds for him.

Is it possible that McIndoe himself may have been taken for a ride in this scheme?

No doubt in the Bentley he was swanning around in.

  23. If it's Ikeme, it might explain that foot injury....

It was an ex Wolves youth player who is currently still playing that went to see him as he lost a fair whack & even though it's the principle he's not on the money that some others are. Witness' say apparently Mcindoe $$$$ himself & had little ruck with these lads who bundled him into a room before they got thrown out.

  27. He has a history at lashing out at inaminate objects - perhaps he kicked Leon!

Little sympathy for greedy footballers who already earn top whack. Much more upsetting when you hear about these ponzi schemes wiping out the savings of OAPs.

Assuming it was indeed Ikeme, at least he was young (and likely very impressionable), and not making a lot of money at the time this all took place. So he likely was one of the smaller victims. He's probably still quite furious at the thief who stole his dosh, but he's had time to put it behind him, and is making better money now that he's in the first team.

Although older guys like Bullard and Keane should have known better, it's hard not to feel badly for them, losing out on what may well have been their retirement funds. Certainly explains Bullard's appearance on reality TV, and Keano still slugging it out in MLS. Sounds like there may be dozens more in the same situation.

If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is ...

There were quite a few lower league players caught up in it too.

It appears that Leon Clarke was drawn into it during his period away from us (probably as he still had friends at Wolves at the time). A few Coventry players as well apparently.

Maybe that's how Ikeme broke his metatarsal, giving McIndoe a good kicking!
