Assuming Afobe is not our only signing this month

Who or for what position will our second signing be ?

A winger type or a midfield snotter or an experienced centre half to keep Baath and Stearman on their toes ?

Attacking midfielder, probably one that can play both outwide and down the middle.

Knockaert or Lingard would be my guess, although I'd like to see Mackay Steven as he's fantastic to watch

Mackay-Steve doesn't even get into the dundee uited teams most weeks, really overrated.

I want Tom Cairney. Or Stuart Armstrong

Lingard would be my guess, only really because I haven't seen us be linked with anyone else realistic.

I personally would go and get Robert Huth now he's available for loan. But CB isn't an immediate concern.

Yep, great technique and vision. Needs pace around him and he doesn't get that at Blackburn. Would work a treat here in the Edwards role.

Mackay-Steven at times can look brilliant but lacks consistency I'm also not convinced he could cut It in The Championship I think the SPL is his level. To me he's similar to Michael Jacobs and Paddy McCourt looks a world beater at a certain level but soon as they step up a level they look out of their depth.

But with all that said I'm surprised no one has took a chance for the price being quoted at 250k for a League 1 or 2 team he could be a good bit of business.

His not even a world beater in the spl. Dow plays ahead of him.

I hope we are in for another striker.

I only see Dicko and Afobe as part of our short term plans. McAlinden needs to go out on loan to further his footballing education and Clarke needs moving on.

Also a wideman. Cover for Sako and competition for RVLP and Henry. Possibly a loan, such as Lingard in the short term. If I'm being greedy I would like an experienced CM to compete with McDonald. Again maybe on loan initially with a view to a permanent signing. We can't afford another Saville, who I think may need to go out on loan himself to regain his form.

That's quite an assumption. We have depth in all areas now so unless someone else like Afobe (young, bags of potential, inexpensive) comes along I am not sure we'll see anybody else new.

Even if Golbourne leaves we have Hause, Doherty and Rowe to play there.

It's possible we are still looking for a Sako replacement on loan but otherwise I think we might have finished for this window.

So would I. A McDonald with quicker legs would be awesome. But I'm realizing that if KMac had pace he'd probably be out of our reach.

A creative number 10 should be on the shopping list, you can't argue with Edwards goal return of late but could do with someone for competition and with more of an eye for a pass. Think David Silva or Iniesta... But the Championship version...

We still need an attacking midfielder compete/replace Edwards. Then if your being fussy a winger

We need another striker (Two isn't enough) and the next position to upgrade would be Edwards, but I'd guess we'd be looking at £5m+ to get a footballing Edwards.

In my opinion our priority is a quality midfield snotter, we have nobody in the first team squad who is capable of that role.

I've said it before but Massimo Luongo wld be a fantastic signing in central midfield. His value's going up by the day as he continues to impress at the Asian Cup out in Australia. I suspect Swindon wld have to consider offers around the 1.5m mark (Spurs have a big sell-on clause apparently). Easily one of the best players in L1 this season (similar to KM last year)

Another striker would be nice but with KJ favouring just the one up front then unless he has money to burn, which I doubt, I'd like to see the any other funds he has spent elsewhere first.

I agree Essex. It's a nice to have. If we are going to play one up front then rotating Dicko/Afobe should hopefully be enough, assuming Afobe does/is comfortable playing up front on his own?

I've only seen the clips of Afobe BBW but he looks to have many similar attributes to Dicko. If so then rotating them would be easy and not disrupt the team. Obviously we will have to ait and see.

And even though KJ likes the one up front systems what's to say he doesn't have an idea of these two playing alongside in a 4-4-2?

Either a Left Back if the Golbourne rumour is true . If not a wide player as I think at a push KJ will use VLP more centrally rather than sign another Centre Forward.
    Knockheart would be nice!

Well at least the transfer ball has started to roll and with plenty of time left I'm hoping for more. Not wanting to be greedy but at least another couple of what's needed will send out a positive statement and help with the feel good factor.

Should the window close and Afobe is the only addition it will seem after a reasonably promising start its ended a bit damp.

upgrade on kmac would be my preference as we have no cover there. after that a number 10 perhaps and a tough box to box tackler to give our midfield an alternative edge when needed.

Next signing should be a classy No.10 imv. Edwards is doing well at the moment but we need to think to the future and provide competition and options for the manager. Saville needs to go out on loan as clearly he is not ready, as with McAlinden. I think we need three 'proper' strikers as a minimum but I suspect another striker signing won't happen till the summer unfortunately. Scrabbling on with the likes of Clarke is a second rate decision if it continues.

A defensive midfielder with a hard tackling mentality would be handy to have in the squad. However I think Evans has great potential and Price is doing pretty well on his comeback although I'm not convinced yet that he he is the answer in the deeper defensive midfielder role.

If Maguire continues to be ignored at Hull I hope we step in for him at some point. Huth is being left out at Stoke and looking for a loan - a good six month option for a promotion chasing Championship team I would have thought.

He got 10 goals and 10 assists last season and has 5 & 9 already this, shows a bit of consistency.

West Brom and Swansea have both been watching him too, they seem to think he might be good enough for the PL.
