Hi Mel, how did you end up becoming the manager of Willenhall Town? What did you make of your time as being a manager? Did it give you a different appreciation of the game?

Hi Mel, many thanks for your loyal service at Molineux. Two questions, if I may.

A Wolves fan and growing up in the area, it must have been wonderful to play at the place of your dreams. So what were your feelings and thoughts after the club were taken over by the Bhatti brothers in 1982?

At 28, you were still in the prime of your career when you signed for Sheffield United in December, 1984. Were you told to find a new club? I recall you had just recovered from a ruptured Achilles tendon injury.

I am aware you played for the England B side. Which players you played with went on to play for the full England side?

    Hi again Mel

we all know that many footballers often have rituals and routines they feel compelled to follow before games, perhaps believing it will bring them luck and or success. Like always putting a certain boot on first or having a favourite item of clothing etc

how about yourself: what were the pre-match routines or rituals you just had to do before each game? Or did you have any lucky charms or trinkets?

If so did they ever work? ;-)

also one other question: Although it is common for footballers to play for clubs all over the globe now, you were playing at a time when English footballers were only just starting to play abroad. What were your thoughts on playing professionally in other countries and were you ever tempted to try your luck overseas yourself?

I remember our nickname for you Mel, was "Elbow Eves" due to your running style , with outstretched arms. Were you familiar with this nickname and did your style ever cause you any problems ?

    Hi Mel,
I have a vague memory of you playing with England B in Singapore around 1978 or 79. And if I recall the score line was 8-0. The score aside, any pleasant memories from that trip? I'm Singaporean and as much as I wanted to, I couldn't stop to get autographs of the Wolves players in the team as I was in the Army then. :(
    Thanks
    Singwolf

When you got into England B I seem to remember it was with 2 other Wolves players ... Was it KH and JR ? I remember being very pleased but a bit surprised at all three getting in at that time, I think just BEFORE 79/80 season started but may be wrong ... Was there a reason for this as I don't remember us pulling up any trees IN 78/79.

Anyway ... Thanks for the memories ... A great Wolves man.
